Sarah dreaded the car ride home from college. Not because she didn't want to see her family, they all got along fairy well now. But she dreaded it because of the radio. She had tried to put in tape after tape but none of them worked. Then, her only choices were silence or the radio. Sarah would normally have chosen the radio because she enjoyed music. But lately, strange things had been happening. So she chose silence.
Despite the choice she made, her radio would turn on by itself. Sarah had it looked at and there seemed to be nothing wrong with it, no reason tapes shouldn't be playing and no reason for it to be turning on randomly. But despite what the professionals said, it still did. The next day, she had it disconnected it to be sure that the radio would not come on but, somehow it still did. Sarah would have been more worried if she didn't know what, or rather who, was doing it.
Sarah got in the car, prepared for the trip. She was going alone because she hadn't made many friends and the friends she did have, were all going to visit their own families for Thanksgiving. Sarah liked driving with others though, it only happened when she was alone and she welcomed the break from insanity. Many times she though that she was losing her mind but she was left reminders of him so she knew that he was the one doing it, just to drive her mad. She occasionally found a crystal orb laying on her bed or a peach in her bedside drawer, as a reminder. She knew he had put there. She had never told anyone else of her trip. Not that anyone would believe it anyway.
She was situated in the car, getting comfortable for the drive. Her right arm was constantly tired, but because she knew the trip was coming up, she avoided the tempting trips to the Chinese restaurant down the street that had the best Crab Rangoon she had ever tasted. She started the car and backed out. She put her left hand on the wheel and the right hand at the ready to change the radio station. As she reached the end of campus grounds, the radio came on.
"This song is dedicated to Sarah from Jareth." She quickly changed the station.
"Jareth requested this song be played for Sarah" she changed it again.
"Jareth apologizes to Sarah and hopes this song makes it up to you." Sarah changed it again.
"Sarah, if you're listening, Jareth wants you to know something so he requested this song be played for you." Changed again. Not even two minutes into the drive and her arm was already stating to get tired.
"This is Jack 105.1 playing what we want" there was a pause "But, in heart of the holiday season, we have a request from Jareth asking Sarah to please listen. Sarah this is for you." Sarah was shocked. The station didn't even take requests! She decided to just focus on driving, with both hands and ignore the radio, not bothering to change the station.
