Disclaimer: I do not own Primeval… *Sigh* But if I'm REALLY good this year, I want Santa to bring me Stephen, Cutter, Becker and Connor :)

Scars:

They were the last ones in the building and all they had left to do was get out.

It was a simple task. They'd done it every other time. Yet the feeling of dread didn't leave the pit of Cutter's stomach as he tried to find any sign of the creature.

Stephen really was much better at tracking than he was and once again he felt the familiar stab of pain in his chest at the thought of his best friend.

"Cutter!" Jenny cried from behind him, a tremble of terror lacing her usually calm voice.

He turned to see Jenny doubled over in pain on the floor. A small puddle of blood had quickly formed beneath her curled body.

Damn, he hadn't even heard the creature approaching, let alone the attack.

"Nick…" She whimpered, dragging him out of his trance with the use of his first name.

Acting on instinct, he seemed to be doing alot of that recently, he dropped to the ground beside her, pulling her shirt up slightly to see what damage the creature had caused.

It was bad. There was a lot of blood oozing from her stomach. But thankfully, there was only one deep gash across her midsection.

After what had happened to Stephen, Nick couldn't lose another member of his team to the job. That god damned job.

He pressed his old jacket against the cut to slow the bleeding and, using his free hand, tried to clean up some of the older blood to see if there were more cuts.

To his surprise there were no new cuts, but instead something he'd never seen before.

Across most of Jenny's body were faded scars. Scars that, if he remembered correctly, would match perfectly to the one's Claudia Brown had received on the golf course in a completely different time.

Memories of various species of flying dinosaurs assaulting the half blind and covered in blood woman that was once Claudia Brown flashed in front of his eyes.

"Where did you get these…? Scars…?" Nick fumbled over the last word and Jenny falsely assumed it was due to her current situation.

"There- Not scars… I-I've had them since – I was born…" She choked out between coughs and gasps of pain.

Cutter didn't bother responding. He'd just end up calling her Claudia again and making her mad. But with his new discovery, he felt some light shine on the still strange new timeline, and he couldn't help but file away the knowledge that Jenny was more like Claudia than even he'd first assumed.
