Dean Thomas laid in bed, replaying the days events over and over in his aching mind. He helped win the Quidditch cup for Gryffindor today. Even though this was a success that Dean could only have dreamed of, he would've traded this triumph in just to have the victory of winning Ginny Weasley's heart.

His heart ached in such a manner that nearly brought him to tears.

He missed her. He missed the rhythmic laughs that left her mouth when he joked with her. He missed the strength he felt he had when he spoke with her. He missed her scent, the smell of coconuts that she always carried, whether it was in her hair or on her body, it was always there. He loved the way her hair reflected the sun, the way her thin lips twitched upwards when they spoke. His ears lacked the sound of her voice, the smooth tone of her speech.

Damn it, they were happy together. There was a point where they truly loved each other, where Dean didn't love her any more than she loved him back.

Dean could remember when it was more than just silly infatuation.

His hand longed for another to hold, five more fingers to intertwine with his. His lips wanted another pair pressed against his own. But they didn't just want any pair, they wanted Ginny's.

He remembered watching Potter's arm make his way around her waist that evening in the Great Hall. He watched him hold Ginny. His Ginny. Jealousy flooded through his veins, and rage took over every last inch of him. He wondered what he meant to her, how much he even meant to her.

She once told him, "you mean the world to me," but that statement obviously meant nothing now.

He guessed she just got tired with him. Bored of all the love he gave her, bored of all the care he had for her.

With every kiss that she gave him, was she just fantasizing Harry's lips pressed against hers?

Did Potter know what he was doing? Did he know how much hurt and pain he was setting himself up for? Did he know that once that bitch would find something better than him that she wouldn't hesitate to leave?

But why would she ever leave the Chosen One? He had everything to give to her, everything that Dean didn't. But he supposed that Ginny was looking for that. She was looking for all that Dean couldn't provide for her, all that he was missing.

He supposed that she wanted everything that he wasn't.
