Maybe it was the look in her eyes that one Monday morning that made you realize what a beauty she could be. You noticed that her long dark hair fit perfectly besides her face and then there's those lips, damn, those lips and right from the beginning you wanted to feel those against yours.

But this was your first encounter with her and the last thing you wanted to do was to screw it up. So, being the gentleman you are, you outstretched your hand and introduced yourself. "Homicide Detective Don Flack." You told her, flashing her a perfect smile which she returned.

At right when that hand met with yours, you felt this strange unknown shiver run down your spine and you shivered slightly. Not too much because well, she's a CSI and she's trained to notice odd behavior of other individuals. She eyed the handshake before looking up at your eyes and nodded. "Aiden Burn."

And you can't help but resist commenting at her name. "Aiden? Unusual name."

She laughs and with her free hand, she tucks a strand of dark hair behind her ear. "Yeah, guess why I kinda like it."

Your smile widens and slowly, your hand leaves hers. "Yeah, I like it too."

--

That same day, you found yourself meeting up with her again on your new case - a homicide at a nearby abandoned apartment. The crime scene was like any other one. Male, early thirties, lying on his floor covered in blood. Bloody handprints surrounded you on the walls and you glanced down at the victim's hands before glancing back at the wall and making a little comment in that Detective notepad that you had.

And as you write, you hear the sound of woman's heels echoing behind you, bouncing off the bare walls. You're ready for Stella because she's really the only other woman that would be joining you, but as the familiar figure of the woman you met early stands besides you; you can't help but smile wide at your luck. Aiden Burn was going to be working the same case as you were.

"Fancy meetin' you again." You said finishing up your notes as you closed your notepad and steal a glance at her.

She moves forward and slowly walks around the body, making sure she's doing her job right and you try to distract yourself so that you're not staring but, it's getting a little difficult. She crouches to take pictures and you look up at the ceiling instead. Have to be a gentleman. Have to respect her and her body. Can't look at her.

"You see somethin' up there?" Her voice called out.

It's not until she says it a second time do you snap out of your little gaze and you turn to look at her, color rising in your cheeks. "What?"

She cocked her head to the side as she stood, her camera still resting in her hands. "You've been starin' at that ceiling for a while. Just wonderin' if you saw somethin'."

You contemplate in your head whether or not to lie to her to either cover your ass or save her time. First time working with her and you were already screwing up and making a fool out of yourself. Damn nerves. "Um, no, nothin's up there."

She's staring at you (well, it seems like forever) but it's only a couple of seconds before she looks away. And out of the corner of your eye, you see a trace of a small smile lingering across her lips.

At least she gets you.

FIN.
