Ron, Hermione, and Harry were all sitting down to eat a wonderful christmas meal cooked by Mrs. Weasley. Ron was next to Hermione and George, and Harry was next to Ginny and Fred. As they began to eat, Hermione saw Mrs. Weasley look at Ron and his plate, numerous times. Hermione ate everything that was served to her, even the things she hated, but she had to be kind to Mrs. Weasley for inviting her graciously into the Burrow. Hermione had almost finished eating, when Mrs. Weasley spoke.
"Ronald, aren't you going to eat your brussels sprouts?" Mrs. Weasley stared at Ron. "They're good for your health." She said.
Hermione looked at Ron's plate and saw two brussels sprouts, sitting, untouched. She looked up at him, and saw him staring at Mrs. Weasley.
"Mum, first don't call me Ronald. Second, you make brussels sprouts ever year, and every year I tell you I don't like them, yet you force me to eat them. I'm 16 now, and I'm not eating my brussels sprouts." Ron glared at his mum, Hermione couldn't believe his behavior.
"Yes you will, Ronald." Mrs. Weasley continued.
"No I won't, and don't call me Ronald!" Ron whined.
Hermione cleared her throat and looked at Ron.
"Your mother made them for you Ron, be nice and eat them, I did." Hermione said through gritted teeth.
"So now the two of you are in on this. No is my final answer! Quit bugging me. I'm excusing myself. Thanks for the food, mum." Ron said sarcastically, as he made his way across the room, and up the stairs. Hermione followed him.
"One moment, Mrs. Weasley." Hermione said.
As she got into Ron's room, she glared at him.
"Go downstairs and eat your brussels sprouts, and thank your mum properly." Hermione said.
"I'm 16 Hermione, your not the boss of me!" Ron said.
"Yeah! Your 16, and your acting like a little child!" Hermione raised her voice.
"You can't force me downstairs." Ron said moodily.
"Oh yeah? Where's your wand." Hermione pulled out her own wand.
"I left it downst- no! You wouldn't!" Ron said as he saw Hermione's twirling her wand between her fingers.
"Oh yes I would, and if you don't get your arse down those stairs right now, eat your brussels sprouts, and stop acting like a child, I'll hex you!" Hermione yelled.
"So what will it be Ronald?!" Hermione said.
"Put your wand down." Ron said.
"When you stop with the attitude. You get down those stairs right now, and thank your mum, who you only see on holidays, properly, and thank her for such a gracious meal!" Hermione was so upset. "Now." She said.
"Fine." Ron looked defeated. "You may have won the war, but you haven't won the battle." Ron smiled at what he thought was a strong comeback.
"I think I can deal with that." Hermione laughed.
