"Talking"

This chapter has been edited, however, it was edited a few years ago.

Btw, this is supposed to be a funny and romantic story. So if there are jokes or some characters who are out of character(goes for all the chapters), then that's why. Just a heads up!

Chapter one, The stone.

The sound of footsteps traveled throughout the air as the sound bounced off the Day Class buildings. The footsteps gradually becoming louder and more evident. The footsteps were none other than Zero Kiryu's.

He had been running for ages now, running from his life; running to his death. Death was an understatement. He was running to his fate.

Pale Lilac eyes flooded with immense pain. Tears almost welling in his tear ducts, as he kept running into the distance. No real direction of where he was headed. Emotions flooding his mind, one by one; hurt, pain, anger, hate.

He wanted to kill someone, literally rip their throat out from beneath their chin. It didn't take a genius to realize who he wanted to do this to. That bastard, that blood fucker, had taken someone so important to Zero. He had taken her right from his bloody hands.

Zero had bad luck, he knew he did, but he never knew it was this bad.

Zero's heart pounded against his rib cage as his thoughts swirled in circles. Why was he even alive? What GOOD was he to the world? He was absolutely no good to the world. The world didn't benefit from his existence. Zero knew that. He knew he wasn't meant to be alive. Who wanted him anyway? No one would care if he was gone; if he was dead.

The road ahead of Zero was not planned by himself. Not even Kaname himself could have planned such an adventure. It seemed that it was fate itself that messed with their future. Fate was a sneaky little bastard, and it was about to stir up the world of Zero's and everyone around him. Why? Because fate knows true happiness. No one else did. All of the events that were about to be on Zero's path, was to decide Zero's and Kaname's destiny. The events that are about to happen won't be easy, nor will they be easy to understand. Confusion, pain, tears, and many misfortunes were going to be on this path. It would only be a matter of time before anyone would understand all the things that were about to take place. It's all for a reason, one big reason. This road was their true fate.

All of this mayhem began when Zero walked Yuuki out of their class together. Upon leaving the classroom, they had spotted an amused Kaname loitering on the wall outside the classroom door.

'Why is the bloodsucker out here? He's not supposed to be in the Day Class territory.' Zero thought to himself and grabbed Yuuki in a protective hold beside him. Not so much for her sake, but for his own. Although Zero could almost sense why the bastard was here. And the thought wasn't sitting well in his stomach.

He had a gut feeling that today was not going to be his day. He felt it in the depths of his soul. If he had a soul that is.

"What the hell do you want, Kuran?" Zero asked, rolling his lilac eyes as he glared at the pure blood before him. Zero had a hatred so deep for this guy, that even Jesus could feel it. The hatred was not a hatred that was built beyond the years; it was settled from the first moment Zero had laid eyes on the blood sucker.

Zero's hair rustled against the wind as it blew against the three of them. The air around them making it hard to breathe. Annoyed, Zero huffed, his hair sliding down his pale face, brushing against his thick eyelashes. He became even more annoyed as his hair stuck to his forehead. Bringing a slender hand to his face, he roughly yanked his hair behind his ear.

Kaname ignored the Vampire Hunter and strolled up next to Yuuki. "As I'm sure you are aware, The Night Class is having a dance tonight, and I was wondering if you would like to be my date?" Yuuki's heart nearly stopped as she filled with happiness, the corners of her lips breaking out into a smile. Although she knew her answer, she couldn't help but glance at the silver haired teen that merely stood inches away from her. Zero's face showing utter disgust at the question Kaname just asked Yuuki. Zero wouldn't dare let his precious Yuuki be with this man. He wouldn't allow it.

Zero felt his face heat up with anger. He was furious.

"Are you fucking kidding me, why would Yuuki want to even-," He trailed off as Yuuki nudged him, her big brown eyes pleading Zero to let her go.

"Please Zero, please," Yuuki pleaded, her arms unwrapping from Zero's embrace.

Zero felt his heart shatter because he knew she wanted to be with Kaname at the dance. However, her response just made it worst; it made it even harder withstand. He couldn't let her go, he said he wouldn't...but why was it so hard to say no to the person he cared for the most. The person he loved more than himself. Zero hated himself for being so controlled by this young girl, when she couldn't give two shits about Zero.

'Who am I kidding, she doesn't love me...she loves that vampire; that beast,' Zero admitted to himself. He always knew deep down that she had no feelings for him, but it hurt so much to finally admit it to himself. Why did he feel as if he had been betrayed? Love was supposed to be a miraculous thing not something that tormented you; not something that ripped you apart.

Zero just couldn't grasp as to why she loved that Pure Blood Vampire so much. What made him so much better than Zero in her eyes? If anyone should be the key to her heart, it should be Zero. He's taken care of her more than any bloody person, even if Kaname saved her...once. Zero felt his fists curl up, his knuckles turning white from the pressure.

Kaname chuckled, the sound of the laughter making Zero's heart stop. "She clearly wants to go with me. I don't need you to answer for her, now if you would excuse us," Kaname said, connecting arms with Yuuki.

And with the click of his heel, he turned around in the direction of the Night Class building. The castle big enough for a whole country to fit inside, as Zero always said. The Night Class building always looked clean and prepared. It was graced with flowers and plants, beautiful gates that loomed over the building keeping everyone out who didn't belong. The building was one for royalty, everyone knew it. But to Zero, the vampires weren't royalty, no, they were pathetic. They were demented, and Narcissistic. They were beings not even worth a second glance.

Zero glanced back at Yuuki and observed how the person he loved the most, left him to stroll alongside the being he hated the most. He knew she wanted Kaname, and that pissed him off; it made him furious. Yuuki should yearn for him. Yuuki should love the guy who has been by her side longer than any other person. Zero.

Glancing back in their direction, Zero caught a glimpse of Yuuki's face; her cheeks painted pink. Her blushing face looking up at Kaname in an admirable gaze. Zero jolted, his body slowly losing to his anger. He raised his fists and slammed them into the wall next to him. The wall now dented and damaged.

'That fucking bitch,' Breathing hard, his eyes glared at the two in the distance. The two of them leaving Zero to drown in his misery. Zero was left there alone in despair.

"If only that asshole wasn't around. If only Kuran was dead; if only he hadn't been born. I deserve Yuuki more than that bastard," Zero spoke, his voice breaking in between his words. He could feel his eyes become sensitive and blurry with his newly formed tears. Zero wiped his face and hit the wall again, his anger only consuming him more and more.

Taking one more glance at them, Zero regretted it immediately. Kaname had cocked his head back looking the ex-human in the eyes, and began mouthing the words "she's mine now". Those words stabbed Zero in the heart, and he could almost feel the air being knocked out of his lungs.

Zero felt empty, felt like a demon had just ripped his heart out, leaving him to suffer the pain alone. Darkness consumed Zero's usually Lilac eyes, and his head dropped down. He felt defeated.

"Who needs me anyway?" Zero whispered to himself as the pain began to flooded his whole being. Dropping to the floor, Zero sobbed and his whole body began shaking. He wanted to drift away into darkness; into an abyss. To a place where there were no bloody vampires, to a place where there was no Kaname. A place where there was nofuckingbody. Just himself.

Zero stood up abruptly, his anger taking over his body as he began to run. He didn't know where his feet were taking him but it sure as hell was a lot better than pathetically crying on a floor. He stopped as he noticed a lake that was to the left of the Day Class Building. His feet dragging behind him, he forced himself to the lake. He kneeled beside the lake, staring at his reflection in the water. His Lilac eyes, red from crying, and his hair a mess from the wind. He looked so...foreign to himself. Angry, Zero chucked a rock at the water, watching his reflection ripple away. He reached into his jacket pocket, taking out his bloody rose.

Zero's eyes scanned the object before him. It was so beaten up; from the amounts of times it had been used. If anything, this was Zero's best friend, not that stupid girl. So many memories just in one piece of shit. Hands shaking, Zero brought the Bloody Rose to his temple. He stared into his reflection once more. The hatred evident in his eyes. He couldn't even stand himself. He was meant to be dead.

Zero's finger slid onto the trigger about to apply pressure to end this ongoing pain, when out of the corner of his eye, something glowed. It took to his interest because he pulled the gun down and cocked his head in the direction of the glowing object.

Zero rose his eyebrow as he took in the object before him. 'What the hell,' Zero thought as he sloppily got up, stumbling up to the foreign object. Scintillating, the object radiated beneath the moon light. It's miraculous color being one of an emerald yellow. Like nothing he had ever seen before. It was absolutely beautiful. His eyes traced the object, confirming that it was a stone of some sort. It's unique shape, the texture being like no other. It was almost crystal like. The edges swirled, and the surface was hard and brittle.

Zero had no idea what it was doing by the lake. Something of such beauty, shouldn't be in a dull place like this. No, not at all. It didn't make sense.

Zero, walking closer to it, reached out with his slender fingers, grazing the side of it. As soon as he had touched it, darkness devoured the air, thick onyx clouds swirling together as if a monstrous wave was about to engulf his entire being. Backing up, Zero tripped against an oak tree, falling onto his bottom. He squinted as the clouds suddenly illuminated and absorbed him.

Everything turned pitch black, Zero's eyes being forced shut, his body struggling to breathe as the cloud crushed onto Zero. His whole world being taken from his sight.

A black hole began forming in the midst of the clouds. Zero's body jerked and began being swept into the hole. He could feel himself struggling to yell, trying to gather the strength to scream for help, but it was no use, he was paralyzed into the darkness, into the hole which overwhelmed him.

Horror struck Zero as he felt himself being dragged deeper and deeper into the dark abyss.
