Disclaimer: No, I don't own any of the Final Fantasy VIII stuffs. Why must you rub it in!

Note: I wasn't going to write this one down at all, let alone put it in fanfiction.net but hey, I needed something to do while I was waiting for SOL testing to be over, right? Lemme know if I should keep going or not

The Fic!

Seifer stood outside of the door to his dorm saying goodnight to Rajin. They had just come from a three-hour training session in the Training Center. He walked into the dorm and took off his trench coat, throwing it onto the couch. A pleasant smell reached his nose and he looked up to see Fujin standing at the small stove. She bent over and looked into the oven but didn't move enough so that Seifer could see what she was baking.

Quistis and Selphie had gone Christmas shopping earlier and invited Fujin along. She agreed for only one reason. While they were out Fujin bought a few potions and some ethers. While Quistis and Selphie were trying on clothes, Fujin bought a cake mix and a gunblade case. The case was made of black leather and had silver corners. She got the silver plate on the case engraved with Seifer's first name. On the inside the case was lined with red velvet and there was a silver bullet case. Fujin practically had to force the guy to engrave a rose on it which she later tinted black. The other girls never saw either of the extra purchases because Fujin covered them with a new jacket she bought for Rajin.

When they returned Fujin went straight to Seifer's room after convincing Quistis and Selphie that she had a good time. The cake was almost done when she heard Seifer and Rajin out in the hall.

Seifer smiled and walked up behind her quietly, even though there was no doubt in his mind that she heard him come in. When she stood Seifer slid his hands around her waist, causing her to jump. He raised her off the floor with ease.

Fujin squirmed in Seifer's tight grasp, "DOWN!" she shouted. Seifer just laughed and he put her down two feet over from where she had been standing and bent over to look into the oven. What he saw surprised him. It was a chocolate cake. He stood to see, first, his December calendar on the wall. Someone, undoubtedly Fujin, had circled today's date, the 22nd. Then he turned to see Fujin smiling at him. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY." Seifer took her into his arms and swung her around the room, smiling. When he released her, Fujin took the cake out of the oven to cool and Seifer went to shower off.

He stood in the Shower smiling to himself. He hadn't even remembered today was his birthday, but Fujin had. She was an amazing friend. When he got out he put on a pair of blue jeans and a white T-shirt. Seifer walked out to the main room to find the cake iced with a little picture of a gunblade on it and Fujin standing over his CD player. She was wearing a light blue, floor length, sleeveless, turtle necked dress. Seifer's jaw dropped when she turned around to face him. "DANCE?" she asked. He managed a nod. Fujin pushed play on the machine behind her back and the sounds of Seifer's all time favorite song filled the room. Seifer raised his arm numbly and dimmed the lights slightly.

He recovered and stepped toward her, bringing her into an embrace. It was well past eleven but they danced slowly until the song ended. Fujin cut the small cake and handed a piece to Seifer. He took a bite. "GOOD?" he smiled and kissed her in the cheek, "Very good. Thank you so much, Fujin." Seifer handed her a piece of the cake.

When Fujin finished she changed back into her usual outfit and Seifer walked her to her dorm room. While Fujin was in Seifer's room she had to hide the gunblade case in the corner since she didn't have a chance to drop it off in her own room. Once Seifer's foot steps had faded Fujin tossed the dress aside and placed Rajin's Jacket on the table. She gently removed the case from the bag
