Tarzan couldn't sleep. He lay on a nest hammock his mother Kala had made for him. But it just didn't seem enough. It was cold and combined with the chilly night air. He looked down at his mother below him, sleeping on her back peacefully. Tarzan decided he could get some warmth from her if she was his nest - someone warm, someone soft. He remembered all the times she hugged him warming his whole body and couldn't why see why she couldn't keep him warm on such a chilly night. Tarzan unwrapped himself from the nest and climbed slowly down. When he got to the ground, he slowly climbed onto his mother's big, round belly. It was warm and soft and he was already feeling warm and comfortable, and for a few moments rubbed the belly of his mother, feeling the warmth and softness of it. He began to rest, his nest rising up and down as she breathed, much to his enjoyment as it felt like a nest that rocked him to sleep.
Kala felt something resting on her belly. She opened her eyes to find her son Tarzan sleeping on it. Kala smiled warmly at the sight. How happy and comfortable he seemed. Kala smiled and bounced her belly upwards waking him up.
"Are you okay, Tarzan?"
"I'm okay," he explained. "But I'm really cold."
"So you took an idea that I could be your nest?" smiled his mother warmly.
"How did you know?"
Kala chuckled. "I'm your mother. I know everything."
And she tickled Tarzan.
Escaping her hands, Tarzan tickled her belly to which she laughed but not as powerfully as Tarzan.
"How come you never feel the cold and I do?"
"You just don't have hair as thick as ours," said Kala.
"You're the best nest, Mom," commented Tarzan.
"Really?"
"You're just warm and soft," explained Tarzan curling himself up on Kala's belly. "Even on a cold night like this. ."
"You'll often want me to be your nest I take it?" smiled Kala expecting a Yes answer.
"Always if it's okay," replied Tarzan.
"Of course it is, Tarzan," said Kala, smiling warmly. "The more company for naps and sleeping, the better."
"What if I was ever cold and you were not here?"
"I will never leave you in a cold night, Tarzan. You're my whole world and I can't not think about you cold."
"That's fine with me," smiled Tarzan. "Nothing can beat my best nest which is you: round, soft, warm and no harm will come my way while I sleep on it."
"And no harm ever will, my sweet little Tarzan. Every night, you just climb on top of me and you'll be safe and sound, from your nightmares, everything."
"Goodnight, Mom," yawned Tarzan. "I love you."
"I love you too," smiled Kala.
Still on her belly, Tarzan started to close his eyes as he felt his mother's enormous furry arms resting over him and bringing him to her chest. He wanted to sleep on the middle of her belly as he enjoyed being risen up and down by it but he felt comfortable when he rested his head against Kala's chest, hearing her heart beat which he saw as a lullaby.
