Hello everyone! It has come to my attention that I have been inactive and taking a look at my older works, I realized just how low-quality they were. I'm here again to show you how much I improved, so enjoy this short Drarry one-shot!
Harry Potter. The name had been murmured and shouted by many witches and wizards. To them, it had been a signal of liberation, the boy who lived. The boy who saved the wizarding world in a single night, as a baby! However, to a certain Malfoy heir, the name had symbolized years of torture. Today, The Slytherin chose to ignore the name. He worked at a small tattoo shop in muggle London and was quite content away from the Wizarding world. That wasn't to say he didn't use magic or read the Daily Prophet, Merlin no, he just didn't get involved.
It was mid-October, leaves weren't the only thing falling. It had been slightly raining for the past day or so. Draco sat in his shop, unoccupied and scrolling through his phone. He never could figure out why they were so important to muggles, but he did enjoy looking through Instagram and getting a laugh at muggle trends.
It had calmed down to a drizzle outside when the bell rang, signifying a customer. Draco looked up from his phone and did a double-take. Before him stood a slightly-wet, aged Harry Potter. The raven-haired boy stared at Draco for a moment. "Potter," Draco said, less as an insult to his old rival and more a surprised reaction. This seemed to snap Harry from his trance. "Malfoy. I-" He paused for a second as if finding his words. "You work at a muggle tattoo shop?" Draco chuckled. "Yes, your point?" "It just seems odd considering..." "Considering what?" Harry scratched the back of his neck. "Considering your family-" "I am not like my family, Potter." Draco cut him off, a slight bite to his tone. "Yes, sorry. Anyways, I was wanting to get a tattoo and a muggle friend suggested this place." Draco cocked his head. "Golden boy Potter want a tattoo?" "Well, why else would I be here?" Draco shrugged.
"What kind of tattoo?" "I want deer antlers in a circlet on my forearm." The two wizards discussed prices and sketched everything out. Considering their history they got along well. While Draco was sketching the antlers Harry sat across from him on a chair, watching the Slytherin. Harry noticed details that he had never noticed before. A slight wrinkle on his forehead, part of his hair falling, and how his tongue stuck out slightly when he concentrated. "Finished!" Harry slightly jumped at the sudden movement. Draco showed Harry the sketch. It was a beautiful line of antlers that intertwined delicately and were tied together with a small wand. Harry smiled. "I love it!" Draco turned slightly pink at the Gryffindor's compliment.
About twenty minuted later Draco had prepared everything and was affixing the tattoo pen. He began to carefully draw out the design, subconsciously checking to see if Harry was feeling too much pain. Once he finished, he cleaned up and treated the sore skin. "Thank you, it looks amazing." Harry complimented, handing over his payment along with a tip. "It is my job. Either way, I'm glad you like it because if you don't it will be a hell of a problem getting it removed. The two chuckled at that. The regarded each other as old friends.
Just before Harry left he turned to look at the blonde. "Hey, Draco?" "Hmm?" "You wanna grab lunch sometime?" "Sure, sounds fun!" Harry headed out, a large grin on his face, meanwhile, Draco was doing a slight happy dance. A quick check to the sketch of the tattoo revealed a phone number in Harry Potter's handwriting.
Yay~
