5th Season
(A Spyro Fanfic On-Shot)
In one swift movement, the wind died and all went silent, as if mourning over the loss that has been made. With one swift movement all hope died for this world and its inhabitants. Malfor, with one swift and powerful blow of his tail, has impaled one of our heroes straight through the heart. And as our purple savior fell to the ground with a heavy thud, and the light left his eyes, the fate of this world was decided.
The one he had been connected to, literally and metaphorically, for this long journey could almost feel the life leave him. She falters, her wings lock, and time seems to slow for her. Before she can even know it, she is on the ground in great pain, physical and emotional. Malfor had won and he knew it. He flapped his powerful wings, floating in place of the once proud temple with a malicious smirk, watching as the world slowly died. Cynder tried with all her might to get back up and keep fighting, for Spyro. Yet she was weakened and alone in this fight, and it did not last long. Our two heroes defeated, the world entered its last moments.
Those who safely went underground realized in terror that their saviors might not have won this final battle. Anarchy issued as anyone not in denial tried to fight their way through to crowds to the surface. Some families, cheetah and moll alike, sat in sorrow as they tried to relish their last moments together, some even eating what they might consider their last supper. Others who were not foolishly fighting for the surface, where foolishly trying to keep them from leaving, fearing for the worse. Even the Guardians fell victim to this mass confusion.
And as for the poor souls who did not go underground, terror was more calmly place upon them. As the farmers hoped that this was just a earthquake, they stay in the center of their homes as their live stock fall prey to the crumbling world. Herds of innocent animals dying as everything fall to a grinding halt in nature. Even the Hermit, a average mad man who may have even know Malfor in his younger years some say, was brought to the realization of what was happening and what Malfor was trying to do.
As the anarchy ensued, things only continued to get worse. As those who fought underground slowly killed most of themselves off before the debris could even them, there were those who simply gave up and let themselves fall into the many deadly gaps that only kept appearing around them. Even the brave Hunter of Avalar gave himself to the death that surrounded him. He knew there was no hope. And he knew from the still of the wind that Spyro was gone. He saw no hope for this crumbling world and simply let go.
And somehow within this chaos the smallest of life seemed to prevail for the remaining time they had. Even some members of the delicate dragonfly community that Sparks and Spyro were raised in remained alive through this destruction, including their mother but sadly not their father. Sparks, though with a injured wing, manages to escape the underground chaos and find his mother, with which he exchanged his last goodbyes as they just tried to enjoy their last moments.
And so as if by nature's decree, the world died off. Chunks of the world floating through the vast cold depths of space as the 5th Season finish its beginning of a new world. Would a new world form out of the destruction as it has multiple times before? Is it possible that any life survived and remains on these remnants? Who will ever know.
In spring, the world its inhabitants grow more active and positive as life begins anew. In summer, life is everywhere and everything is pleasant. Then comes fall, the season in which life begins to die. Winter, in which everything seems so cold and lifeless, there still remains life but this life is almost depressed by the near death of the world around it. Then comes the 5th Season, the season of the complete destruction and New Life. The season of the phoenix.
