This is a oneshot inspired by Calum Scott- you are the reason. I've been in such a good mood and really taking stock of life at the moment and this little thing was born from it.

Standing outside in New York in winter is never really a good idea but it's beautiful. The snow blanketing the city like its comforting our sorrows. It carries many memories- some bad, but since Noah entered her life it's been nothing but good memories- even the scary ones. Olivia has learned that life outside the job was damn worth it, she still loved the feeling of doing something worthwhile, her job did that- not always but progress is progress.

She watches as Noah runs around playing with the snow noticing the lights. His face full of excitement and it warms her heart to the very core.

She often wondered of the man she loved, how he was carrying on. Since because of his support and friendship, did she even have this life. He brought some much to her and he hadn't even known. She hopes he's doing well, that he enjoys the smell of coffee in the morning, enjoys the flowers when they're present and know that they're still there even when not visible.

Sometimes- days like this, she thinks of calling, reconnecting, maybe fixing something she had left broken. She won't lie and say she doesn't miss him, that she wouldn't do everything she could to make it work because now she understands that they were it- her story ended with him. He made her heart race with joy- sometimes anger because they did have a rocky start in their friendship but he grew into so much more, more than she could she ever imagine and maybe that scared her a little. She likes to picture him smiling and happy. His smile that could make anyone swoon. The memory of it still comforts her.

As Noah runs up to her, she reminds herself that life has a way of working itself how it is suppose to be- and this is it. Noah is the reason she's here. The reason after everything they both been through- she was meant to be his mother. As they go hand in hand to meet up with Amanda for a play date with Jesse, she can't stop smiling. She's whole and not because of everything that went wrong but because of every good thing that come from it.
