Shane wrapped his arm gently around the small boy's waist, "Reed. You'll be fine."
Reed shook his head, his strawberry blond curls bouncing around, "What if she's disappointed?"
"She won't be," Shane just sighed, standing in the elevator that lead to Reed's front door, keeping him steady.
Once they reached the door, Reed's fingers began fiddling, "How do I look?"
Looking down at his boyfriend of two years, the possibilities of an answer flew through Shane's head. 'Adorable. Cute. Hot. Sexy. Amazing. Perfect. Supermegaawesomefoxyhot.' He just plastered on his goofy grin and fixed Reed's bow tie, replying with a simple, "You look great."
Reed could feel his cheeks turn pink, but he nodded and hugged the taller boy.
Shane smiled and hugged him back tightly, "I love you. You can do this."
After a moment of hugging, Reed let go and smiled up at him, "I love you, too.." A quick peck on the lips left them both colored pink. Reed exhaled deeply, probably enough to become light headed, and opened the door.
Shane reluctently followed the small boy in.
"Mom, I'm gay," Reed breathed, then blinked a few times, correcting himself, "No. I'm bisexual. Uh," he looked down and then pointed to his boyfriend, "I don't know what I am, but I know for sure that I'm attracted to him."
Shane colored scarlet to the roots of his curly hair, a little shocked at how Reed had decided to word his coming out.
Hilde carefully raised an eyebrow, "What?" She should have seen this coming. She had allowed, no, forced Reed to grow up in an envoironment full of fashion. It was only expected that he would sway towards the feminine side and eventually become attracted to males.
The small boy began fiddling with his thumbs, trying to avoid his mother's gaze by looking at the other boy, "Shane Anderson. He's my boyfriend. He has been my boyfriend for a little over two years.." he inhaled deeply and looked up at his mother, blushing a light pink, "I'm in love with him, mom. I didn't want to hide him from you.."
Feeling the awkward tension, Shane frowned and plopped down on their couch, just staring at his hands.
A long silence filled the air before Hilde nodded, "I love you, Reed. You know that I do," a small smile crept onto her lips, "and I'm sure that Shane is an amazing guy."
Reed bit his lip, not wanting his mother to go any further. Her approval was really all he wanted.
Hidle laughed lightly, "I understand."
Both boys just blinked a few times, a little shocked. Reed had told Shane how his mother usually did what she felt best for him and backed him up on his decisions, but they were both shaking about her responce to something this big.
Reed felt himself grin, "You do..?"
"Of course, sweet heart," his mother walked over, her heels clicking loudly on the marble floor, wrapping her arms around her only son, "Whatever you choose, this, I can't change your mind..even if I wanted to."
Shane was nearly beaming, "This is so awesome!"
Reed shot him a look, as if to tell him that he were ruining the mother-son moment.
Ignoring the glare, the boy leaped off of the couch and joined in on the hug.
Reed turned red, "Shane. Stop it."
Hilde laughed again, fixing her son's curls, "Oh, it's alright. If you love him, then so do I."
Shane chuckled and let go, wrapping his arm around Reed's waist, "Sweet! So, should I call you 'Hilde'? Or 'Mom'..?"
"Oh, god," Reed groaned, throwing his face in his hands.
"Just Hilde is fine," she smiled sweetly at her son and his boyfriend. Maybe this wouldn't be too bad.
