Don't judge, please. It's my first Fanfic.
Disclaimer: I don't on PJO (Only in my wildest dreams.) Also, I'm not some old guy named Uncle Rick who spend his time trolling his fans.
My name's Jonas, and I'm gonna tell you about my friend Annabeth. Aside from being the smartest girl in the whole school, she wasn't full of herself like any of the other girls I know that just happened to be gorgeous. But before you come to the conclusion that I have some crazy obsession over her, she's my best friend, nothing more. In fact, she's more like a sister to me. She has honey blond hair, startling gray eyes, and always sticks up for the underdogs. Even though she was always a little…different, she seemed to change after the summer with all the freak storms across the country. How, you ask? I'll tell you.
PAGE BREAK (NAMED BOB. BOB SAYS HELLO…)
After that summer with the freak storms, Annabeth came back to school happier than she had been in a long time. When I asked her about it, she said that things had gotten better with her dad, and that she started dating some guy named Percy. The way she said his name, though, like she cared for him but would beat him up if he did something stupid. I thought Annabeth was doing great, which she was, until I found her crying behind the bleachers during around Christmas.
Flashback:
I turned the corner to hear a female voice crying. When I went closer, I noticed it was Annabeth. Her hair was hung around her face, and she was looking at a photo of someone that looked a few years older than us. He was laughing while a goth girl held his hand, and next to her was someone that could only be described as a mini-Annabeth. In fact, I think it was her!
"Annabeth, are you ok?" I asked, reaching out.
She looked up, startled, her face streaked with tears.
"Um, yeah. I'm fine Jonas."
"Annabeth Chase! I know you're not ok, you're crying for God's sake!"
"Oh gods…I guess I have to tell you." I noticed she said gods, plural. I didn't know she was polytheistic. "During the freak storms, a lot of my friends died. One of my oldest friends, he was like family, Luke, died too. He gave up his life to save me, Percy, and so many other people. I knew him since I was seven. It…it still hurts." Her voice wobbled.
"Oh, Annabeth." I gave her a hug and helped her to her feet. "I'm sure this Luke would've been proud of the kind of person you've become. Now come on, or should I tell the world that the great Annabeth Chase is crying?"
She smiled a bit and said, "Thanks Jonas. Also, I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about this."
"Of course, Beth"
"Don't call me Beth." She said back to me, her original tone of voice back, complete with an Annabethian glare. I smiled, then proudly bowed.
"Of course, you're majesty." She laughed, and we talked until our next class. By then, her tears were gone.
It was then that I learned that there was more to Annabeth that met the eye. People saw only the surface. She was like onion, full of layers that could probably make you cry if you were on her bad side. Whoever helped her be happy, whether it was me, this Percy, or her parents, I hope they don't leave her. Little did I know that that wasn't even close to the worst that Annabeth would go through.
This is probably gonna be a lot of mini-chapters on Jonas's reflections on Annabeth's life, from the mortal pov.
No flames please, I'm not that good of a writer but this was just one of my ideas that I thought would be a change from the jealous mortals fic. (which I have nothing against)
