Thomas Decket stared in disbelief at what had just hit him at a great rate of knots. Standing on the metal walkway with a look of confusion on his face was a beardless blond-haired boy in his late teens. His clothes looked a little out of place to, more colourful than most normal city dwellers clothing.

Then there was his strange looking pet. Was it some kind of vividly orange rat there? At this distance, he was unable to make out the details, but it was certainly weird.

A group of Crimson Guards walked past Thomas, led by the commander of the guard Errol and Thomas's eyes widened. They stopped at the boy and after saying a few words that Thomas could not hear, they smacked a rifle butt into the boy's head and Thomas almost gasped in shock. He needed to get away from here as fast as possible, much like the way his fellow citizens of Haven City were doing at this very moment. It really didn't pay to stay when the Baron's guards took someone less they decided to take you as well. The rat had vanished and Thomas quickly stood up. Wobbling slightly, he turned and ran away as fast as he could.

A few minutes later he stopped, panting for breath and sweating like a proverbial pig. Who was that boy, he wondered to himself. Then he shook his head and continued on his way. No point worrying about what you could not change after all.
