Sunday afternoon often found Azula puttering about the palace, wearing a robe and a set of thin slippers. She was tired from spending all morning sleeping and not doing anything, and often spent several hours wandering the grounds making servants nervous and finding stuff to break and blame on Mai's daughter.
At some point she drifted into the kitchen to find a chief prepairing something. He turned around just in time to see Azula walk in.
"Good afternoon, your highness." She ambled over to him and watched him work on a fruit tart. "It's for your brother," he added.
Azula circled around to his other side and took a piece off the tray. "A fruit tart? So early in the day? Send my congratulations with this," she smirked. The chief smiled nervously, he couldn't figure out how to explain why a slice was missing.
Hopefully Zuko wouldn't hurt him too bad, Azula thought as she skipped out of the kitchen.
She started back to her bedroom. Maybe there was something in there for her to do.
She turned the corner and swore. Ty Lee was standing by her bedroom door, crying.
There were two options: run away, or ask what was wrong. Azula knew what was wrong. She slowly walked towards the girl.
"Ty Lee," Azula said, not really a question and not really a statement.
Ty Lee stopped rubbing her eyes long enough to look up at Azula. "Hi Zula."
Azula approached Ty Lee cautiously, in the same way one might approach a menstruating lioness. "What's wrong, Ty," she asked, though she already knew.
Even though she was fully anticipating it, Azula was still caught off guard when Ty Lee tackled her and buried her face into her neck.
"Tenok... *hic*... he broke... *sob*... said he wanted to see... *sob*..." After this point everything Ty Lee said was indecipherable and Azula could only say "uh-huh" reassuringly.
Eventually Ty Lee pushed herself away and rubbed her face. "I'm really sorry to bother you like this Zula, but I didn't know who else I could come to."
"Yeah, and Mai's... busy." Azula rubbed her friend's arm.
Ty Lee kept sniffing. "It's just that I though Tenok was different, but he wants to..." She broke off and started sobbing again. Azula groaned inwardly and reluctantly pulled Ty Lee closer.
"Well Ty, remember what I told you about Tenok."
Ty Lee made a series of squeaking noises that Azula heard as "That you despised every fiber of his being and he was the fourth worst human to walk the earth?"
"Mm-hm."
"I just thought he was different!"
"Ty Lee, you have the worst habit of attracting these awful guys."
Azula poked at Ty Lee's back awkwardly. She hated this part.
Ty Lee shook her head slowly. Then she stood up, wiped her eyes, and pulled Azula towards her bedroom door. "Come on..."
"Ty, no, not today... I'm really tired..." she complained, but Ty Lee was already working the knot on the front of her robe.
No, this was the part she hated, Azula thought as Ty Lee wrapped herself tighter around her torso.
"Mmm..." Ty lee sighed.
"Ty Lee... this needs to stop..." Azula muttered.
Ty Lee rubbed her head in circles on Azula's chest. "Why though? Isn't it nice?"
"You can't just pounce at me whenever you break up with your Boyfriend of The Week. We need to have boundaries..."
Azula was quickly silenced by Ty Lee's hand sliding up her thigh.
