Here ya go Ange. Enjoy your fluff
Ryou packed his bag: grocery list, house keys, cell phone, knife... He sighed as he remembered how much his oldest brother pushed him to keep safe. So much that he gave Ryou an army grade knife to arm himself with. Ryou of course had no idea why he would need it since Joey and Tristan beat the living crap out of anyone who bothered him or Yugi. Speaking of which...
Ryou threw on his blue blazer over his striped blue shirt and pulled his bag over his head, then left his room. Sitting in the living room was his older brother/twin Bakura, lying down on the couch playing on a DS that Ryou had gotten him for their last birthday. His usually grumpy sibling was lying quietly with his feet up on their frequent guest Marik Ishtar. The Egyptian boy, with strange blond hair and a midriff that would put most Calvin Klein models to shame, was also playing on a DS (Ryous) but at a much slower pace as he was still unfamiliar with modern technology after living most of his adolescents in a tomb. Occasionally Marik would spend nights, sometimes weeks, at the Bakura residence, either sleeping on the couch or in Bakuras room (Ryou/everyone had already guessed that the two were far more than friends despite the lovers protests). Ryou didn't mind him, Marik was nice enough and had a lot of energy. It was Mariks brother who somewhat bothered Ryou. Melvin, as everyone called him since he never actually told them his real name, was more or less Mariks evil twin and had taken quite a liking to Ryou over their past encounters. It may have been a little awkward at first since he looked almost identical to Marik, although since Ryou and Bakura looked almost identical the same thing may have occurred to Marik, but Ryou and Melvin had spent some time (sometimes forced) together and something may have possibly sprouted from the relationship.
Ryou was just about to leave when Mariks nasally voice yelled, "Hey Ryou where are you going!?"
The yell caused Ryou to jump, catching himself on the kitchen counter. "I-I, uh, I'm just going out. Me and some friends are meeting up and going shopping."
At the mention of Ryous friends, Bakuras head pick up, "What? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I told you this morning!" It was well known that Bakura and Ryous oldest brother, even Marik and Melvin, did not like Ryous school friends. In fact Marik went as far as to call Yugi and the Pharaoh their archenemies.
"Are you going to get some oreo's?" Marik asked looking up from the DS.
Ryou sighed and wrote 'oreo's' on his grocery list, "I'll pick some up while I'm out."
"YES!"
Bakura watched as his brother left the apartment, his eyes glaring at the door. Marik leaned closer to him, "So I guess this means we're alo-"
"Nope," Bakura pushed him off and Mariks face hit the floor with a startled "Akg!". The white haired boy got off the couch and walked to the door to peek through the peephole on the door.
"Marik we're going out."
"Well duh! I already knew that."
"That's not what I meant. Get your coat."
"Why? Usually this is the part where we're half naked, and you do that pouty face cause you're embarrassed with your body and I try not to laugh-"
"Just get your coat! We're going to play a game."
"Does it involve childrens card games?"
"No. This time we're playing the stalking game."
Ryou met up with his friends at Kame Game where everyone was waiting outside for him. Yugi, Tea, Tristan and Joey all greeted him in their usual friendly manner.
"Yo Ryou!" Joey greeted in his awful brooklyn accent.
"Hi everyone!" Ryou cheerfully greeted back.
"All ready to go?" Tea asked him.
"Yep. I even brought a shopping list."
"Jeez Ryou, this is like tha third time in two weeks you've done grocery shoppin"
"Well when you live with brothers with big appetites you tend to go through a lot of food easily."
"I guess it would be like living with three Joeys, eh Ryou?" Tristan joked.
Everyone laughed, except for Joey, then left to walk to the mall talking about Yugis latest duel as King of Games and school work. What they did not notice behind them were three people hiding behind a corner, watching the group. The three figures wore dark sunglasses and black coats in attempts to conceal their identities, however they were still very noticeable because of their outrageous hair. One had long white hair with two bat-like wings sticking out on either side of his head, one had seminormal blond hair that was somewhat spiked, and the last had similar blond hair but it stood on ends as if he had received multiple shocks.
"Why is he here?" Bakura asked in a crude hushed tone as he kneeled on the ground watching his brother go around the corner.
Marik, crouching between Bakura and Melvin, shrugged, "Eh."
"I'm always up for stalking!" Melvin, standing at the top, half-yelled with a wild grin on his face.
So for the rest of the day Ryou was followed around by three teenagers as he shopped. Of course he knew he was being followed, since Tristan had pointed out that he saw Marik, but he didn't mind. At least it wasn't his oldest brother otherwise he was sure he would have been dragged away for spending time with Yugi (his brother was not a fan of Yugi or his older brother). Despite the rivalry and hate between their brothers, Yugi and Ryou got along fine. Atem, Yugis older brother and practical twin, was just a year younger than Ryous oldest brother Akefia (or as he liked to call himself the Thief King). The two hated each other and were constantly fighting. But since Akefia worked for Ryous father as an archaeologist he traveled all the time between Japan and Egypt (which actually just happened to be where Ryous oldest brother was born). Yugis family also had ties to Egypt, as Atem was also born there since both Ryous and Yugis father had worked there full time before moving (in Yugis case his parents died). Marik was from Egypt but had moved with his older sister Ishizu after the whole Battle City fiasco.
"Speaking of brothers, " Tea said looking from Yugi to Ryou. "How's your brother, Ryou?"
"Oh, he's fine. Marik is staying over again so he's been pretty occupied."
"What's going on between those two anyway?" Joey asked.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean like tha one time we all hung out at your place an Bakura was a completely different person, just cause Marik was over."
"He's not always so bad. Besides, you're a completely different person around Mai and Kaiba."
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
Yugi laughed, "Atem is like that with Mana, and Tristan and Duke are like that around Serenity."
"Like what?! What is everyone talkin' about?!"
Tea looked at her confused friend, "Come on Joey, you know. Just think about it."
"What, is it like when that Melvin guy is hangin 'round Ryou?"
Ryou felt his face go red.
Meanwhile, at Melvin's mention, the psychopath feverishly squirmed behind the wall over Ryou blushing. Bakura and Marik watched him with annoyed looks.
At the grocery store Ryou had to separate from his friends for a while to go look for oreos, though Joey ended up going with him since Serenity had also wanted some american sweets.
"These should be enough for a while," Ryou said as he put a large box of the cookie into his grocery bag.
"Jeez Ryou, how much stuff are ya gonna buy?" Joey asked looked at the near full basket. "Are you sure ya can afford all that?"
"Don't worry. Since the museum has been getting so much business, my father has been sending larger checks. Plus my brother has a full time job so we're practically loaded!"
Joey nearly had a heart attack, "So that's why ya have that fancy apartment."
From behind the rack of root beer, Bakura, Marik and Melvin watched Ryou chat with his loud blond friend. Bakura hated Joey Wheeler and was very tempted to go up to him and sock him in the face before running away with his brother. Melvin was nearly foaming at the mouth as he watched the two laugh as a joke Joey told. Marik wasn't paying attention and instead looking at the ingredients of box of thin mints.
Leaving the store, Ryou was shocked to find a trio of girls from school bowing at him, one holding out a box to him.
"Uh...Hi."
"Ryou-chan!" One of the girls said loudly. "Please accept this box lunch as a token of our love!"
Everyone sweat dropped. It was very awkward. Joey wondered why no girls ever did this for him.
Behind the wall, watching the scene, Bakura was shaking in hate at the girls who seemed to be bothering his little brother, Marik was whining about wanting lunch, and Melvin was in shock. As the girls kept talking about how much they loved Ryou, the white haired boys friends just staring in shock at the scene before them, Melvin walked around the corner, his odd purple cape blowing over his shoulders as he marched over to the group and stopped next to Ryou.
"Melvin! What are you-"
Ryou was cut off as the taller boy put his arm around him, and dipped him ballet style before planting his tanned lips on Ryous, and remaining in that position. The girls screamed, "We're sorry!" and ran away, leaving Yugi, Tea, Joey and Tristan staring at their friend in shock until Melvin detached from Ryou, the smaller boy completely red and flustered.
Melvin licked his lips, "Now you owe me." And he walked away. Behind the wall Bakura was lying flat on the ground with steam coming off of his head and Marik was wondering why he had never thought to do that.
Meanwhile Melvin was as happy as a clown as he walked down the street, picturing Ryous blushing face and startled look.
Creampuff could make it up to him later.
End.
