Disclaimer: Don't own and never will. Are we clear on that? If not, what can I say to make it clearer?
AN: Inspired by something I saw on Deviantart, I hope this works out nicely.
AN2: I've borrowed the name Palace of Flowers from the game Dark Chronicle/Dark Cloud 2
Hay Lin rubbed her eyes and stared as she tried to take in the sight before her eyes.
What she was seeing was by no means unusual, or even strange for normal people. This was a place famous on Meridian for it's romantic nature. Elyon's parent's had met here and Drake's father had actually proposed to his father in the very spot she was standing.
No, what she was seeing was by no means unusual in the Palace of Flowers, a building composed of hundreds of flowering pink and purple roses. Indeed, ever since Elyon had reopened the Palace of Flowers, there had been no shortage of couples courting and kissing in this place. It seemed that people wanted somewhere special to escape to, away from normal life in Meridian, for their most romantic and important gestures. Well that and the fact that the Palace of Flowers was a very beautiful place.
"So THIS is the mysterious boyfriend everyone's talking about," she said and the two lovers broke apart with a sharp jerk.
"Hay Lin! What are you doing here?" one of them asked, his eyes widening in shock. Hay Lin chuckled.
"I'm meeting my boyfriend in here," she replied with a cheery smile. "I didn't expect to run into you here as well," she paused and looked at the two men in front of her, "Especially not with him."
"And what do you mean the new boyfriend that everyone's talking about?" demanded the other man with a glare. He looked at his boyfriend. "I thought you said that you had kept it secret!"
"Oh Irma guessed," Hay Lin replied cheerfully. "You can't hide anything from her Martin, she knows you too well!"
"Humph!" Martin snorted with annoyance. Martin's boyfriend gave them a smile.
"Perhaps it is time for us to come into the open after all," he said, looking Martin in the eye. "After all, we should not be ashamed of who we are or our love."
"That's the spirit!" Hay Lin said excitedly. "Taranee will be disappointed. She thought you were dating Angelo Vanders!"
"Angelo is courting Miranda," Martin's boyfriend pointed out with amusement. "Although she tries to hide it, she practically glows these days whenever his name is mentioned."
"Cool!" Hay Lin said with a smile. "So you liking Irma was a smokescreen?" she asked Martin, who shrugged.
"I'm bi," he replied nonchantly. "It wasn't until I met Aldarn that I realised that it wasn't really Irma I was in love with, not the real Irma at least, just a fantasy," he paused and looked Hay Lin in the eye. "Please don't tell anyone. We want to reveal this when we're ready."
"Sure!" Hay Lin replied excitedly with shining eyes. "You make a really cute couple! Oooh, I can't wait to see you officially come out!"
As Hay Lin bounced away, Martin turned and looked Aldarn in the face.
"Are you sure you want to do this? We could keep it quiet if you like," he said. "I know you're not sure about how you feel about being open an-" He was abruptly cut off by Aldarn kissing him firmly."
"I think the time is right," he said with a smile. "Now where were me?"
