Elijah looked at her as if he seen an angel. It was true. Katarina was the most beautiful thing to ever grace his damned world. "Elijah you're supposed to catch me", Katarina said. "But if I catch you the game will be over", He said. "Come sit with me", She said. He did as commanded taking a seat on the stone bench beside her. The wind blew lightly wafting her scent into his nostrils. She smelt like peaches. He inhaled deeply taking it in. He heard her heartbeat lightly under her chest her blood flow delicately under her smooth skin. He looked down at his feet thinking about his humanity as she picked a flower and plucked the petals one by one. "Elijah do you believe in love", she said letting the wind take the petals into the air. He looked up in surprise. "No. Klaus says love is a weakness we mustn't show "Elijah replied thinking about the conversation he and Klaus had about the subject. "How can you not believe in love "she said? Looking into his brown eyes she spoke, "If we cease to believe in love why we would want to live." She kissed his warm lips and he kissed her back then breaking the kiss he whispered", I do love you Katarina," "I'm sorry am I interrupting" a voice said. It was Klaus and she got up and left with Klaus. Elijah got up and went to the woods for he knew that he would never she his beloved Katarina again and that hurt more than anything else. He ran through the trees not looking back to the part of the forest that Klaus would make the sacrifice. For once in his life he wished that she would escape. Then he had an idea that would save her so he ran back to the castle and told Trevor to help Katarina escape and he would handle Klaus. So Trevor did as told and a few hours later Klaus stormed into the dinning chamber and told Elijah that she had escaped. He faced the fire and smiled to himself that he had saved her. "What are you smiling at" Klaus said staring at Elijah. "Nothing" he said quickly. Then Klaus ran with super human speed gripping Elijah's throat. "If you had anything to do with this I swear I'll rip your heart out." He told him. "I swear I didn't. I promise you I'll get her back" he said. He left Klaus and ran to the cottage that Trevor and Rose occupied. Only to find that Katarina had killed herself and left them all. In a rage he knew she had betrayed him and he knew Klaus had been right and he would make her pay when he found her. As he walked out he vowed never to love again.
