I normally stick to HP fanfics, so if you're a Potterhead check those out! This is my first MR fanfic, and I do hope you enjoy. By the way, this work of wonder belongs to James Patterson. I don't entirely know where this is set timeline wise so I'll leave that to your imaginations. Just be sure that Angel is 6.

Fang was asleep, and in the middle of a dream. A good dream at that. In fact, Fang really wouldn't have minded if his dream practically never ended. But alas, the members of the Flock were by no means heavy sleepers, and there was a five- scratch that- six year old in the house that apparently required somebody's attention.

When the door squeaked just the slightest Fang was sitting up and alert, ready to fight to the death. He had tucked his wings in just incase there was need of a quick escape out the door, and the covers were thrown back so he didn't get tangled. But the six-year-old standing in the doorway was far from life threatening; actually she was far from threatening Fang's life. Anybody else? She could beat 'em in a heartbeat. Fang had made sure of that.

"Angel?" Fang said weakly, relaxing his body muscles and letting his wings out again. "What is it sweetheart?"

"I had a bad dream," she slowly walked forward, her blonde curls tousled from sleep and falling to her shoulders. She was dragging Celeste behind her, and shuffling her feet, rubbing her eyes with her other hand.

"Come here," Fang beckoned her forward and she clambered onto his bed, crawling towards him and snuggling close to his side, letting out her white wings a little bit.

Fang really loved Angel. Sure, he didn't show the most emotions, but this little girl melted his heart. He hated to see her in pain, it broke his heart. Even a bad dream made him want to crush whoever was in it. There was absolutely nothing he wouldn't do for Angel.

"What happened?" he asked quietly.

"There were needles and dog cages, and Ari was there, and Jeb was there, and you and Max and Nudge and Iggy and Gazzy were all there. You were in dog cages, and they wanted to do more experiments and… and…" there were tears going down her face again.

"Shh, shh, you're never going back there I promise. Just go back to sleep." Fang opened up his wings, wrapping them around Angel and enveloping her in a feathery cocoon. In moments she was back asleep, as he ran his fingers through her blonde hair. Soon Fang was snoring lightly.

Where the hell are they? I thought to myself. I don't have time to be looking for Fang and Angel at seven in the morning! I should be oh I don't know, asleep or something dammit!

I threw open the door to Fang's room, now normally the boy would've jerked away and roundhouse kicked me in the chest by now, but he stayed fast asleep. And in his arms? Angel.

Huh. I guess the guy really did have a soft side.
