It was just another regular day in The World, and Sora had only been logged on for one hour but he had already pwned a generous amount of n00bs. By his standards, n00b would not necessarily denote just the new players but anyone weaker than him, though he did take particular satisfaction from preying on the lower levels. He was proud of his daily accomplishments, but not quite content just yet. Player-Killing was usually just a random act of trolling but even Sora could get bored of that. When he wasn't downright predating on the closest available target he liked to fancy himself a serial killer, carefully selecting his next victim.
He went into town with these thoughts in mind and started looking for a fitting target. Any n00b foolish enough to venture on their own would do. The lowest the level the better. Sometimes he would even be as eccentric as to pick someone who had just registered and offer to guide them through the game and help them level up for a while, just so he could end up PKing them once he got their trust, when they least expected, and, most importantly, before they even had a chance to save their current progress. It wasn't like him to be so patient, but he enjoyed the anticipation more than the kill on these rare occasions.
A passerby asking other players for information caught his eye. He was definitely alone. Sora decided to stalk him for a while. Quite an uneventful player it seemed, just your average swordsman, the n00b's most popular choice. He thought for a while, trying to decide on whether to engage him and lure him into a trap or just follow him as he leveled up and deal the finishing blow when it would cause most frustration. He wasn't in the mood for much talking or acting nice, so he end up deciding on the later. He easily followed the swordsman around while keeping a certain distance, the clueless player never noticing his presence.
When his target leveled up enough and was preparing to go back to a save point Sora decided it was time to step in and make his move. He suddenly jumped in front of the swordsman, letting his mischievous grin reveal his malicious intent. He invested towards his unfortunate prey, too astonished to react, as it all happened so fast. He would have finished him in one blow, but just as Sora's blade was about to strike his victim... it all went black! No image, no sound. Sora dropped the game controller and removed the VR headset to check what was wrong with his computer, only to find his mother holding the computer cord, with a very angry expression on her face.
- "I warned you, Ryou! I told you if your grades didn't improve there would be no more of this stupid game for you. I just received your school grades report. That's it! I'm canceling your subscription!"
