Umm, I hope you enjoy this, it's humor packed and all as always, so I think you will... This is chapter one of 'DL and Legendary Friends', and this is NOT a Mary Sue filled fic, it is actually as realistic as I could get it. So don't go all 'OH THAT'S SO MARY SUE AND YOU SHOULD ROT IN HELL YOU PSYCHO-TYPO-BITCH!!1!1!!one' because it's not and I'm not. Well, maybe. ;3 Enjoy!

Log Entry 737 of Legendary Watch (Recently Made Open), June 12th

Well, you've all heard of the Legendaries: mighty, powerful Pokemon who are normally five-thousand times your size and a million times more powerful than the strongest Charizard. And I think we all know that a Legendary is one-of-a-kind (every single one of them) and difficult to catch. You got that down? Good, that makes it easier to explain this. (Ahem….)

First of all, let me introduce myself: I am Megan Renee DrakenHart (nickname is 'DL' for 'Dragon Lover'), nearly a scientist except for the fact that I don't know squat about science or calculus or anything else extremely scientific. In fact, I didn't even go to college – I'm only sixteen. Instead, I have spent much of my time studying the Pokemon I hold so dear, even dropping out of high school just so I could spend more time working on my Pokemon projects. My only friends are my Pokemon, especially my Raichu (Butterscotch) and Haunter (Hunter), so I guess you could say I'm a hermit. I haven't been with other people for a while, but I have stayed in touch with a group of scientists who are interested in my work because I seem to be able to get up close to Pokemon without frightening them – it's in my nature, I guess. They have me do trips for them to collect data and such, helping me by saying a bunch of scientific stuff and expecting me to understand it before somebody nice translates it to 'Megan-nese'. (For example, 'spontaneous combustion of the electrical powered Electrode, causing minor bruising but heavy burns over forty-three percent of the body' in Megan-nese means 'the Electrode exploded and hurt someone' – not that I didn't understand that, but that's just to show you what I mean) They help in my research as well, giving me awesome equipment (yays!) that helps me study them better. I should thank them, really, especially Prof. Cedar who directs the entire project. Kudos to him!

Anyways, not everything is as it seems, right? Well, that's the same for these Pokemon who run the show – the Legendaries. People may think that they know a lot about them, with all of their mythology and case studies, but, trust me, I know. There are many things that I have learned, and it is that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

I've also learned that a Charizard's tail-flame can become so hot that it turns blue when it is using a Flamethrower, and that it is impossible to penetrate a Cloyster's shell. A Lugia (yes, folks, there's more than one, but we have a sort of 'ruler' of them all) can dive deep enough to encounter Relicanth and Kyogre and stay there for over two hours, while Clamperl is said to give some lucky Spoink a pearl to place on its head. A decent Pikachu can hold enough electricity to short out a town, while touching a Mareep's fleece can cause your hair to stand on end and perhaps even burn your fingers. Although a Magikarp looks harmless, its ancestors used to be the strongest fish Pokemon in the waters and grew to the size of a modern-day Gyarados, and a low-level Floatzel can still outrun (or out-swim) most high-level Gym-trained Pokemon. While a Kadabra may be powerful, it is best to evolve it when you can because it gains a stat-boost, but only after it learns Psychic, one of the most powerful Psychic-Type moves in the world. A Torterra can wipe out an entire Gym's worth of high-level Electric- and Water-Types as long as it has a good Earthquake or Razor Leaf attack, and Munchlax isn't half-bad of a fighter, either, once it eats its fill.

You can tell that, with my little bits and pieces of knowledge that I have collected and studied, I have earned respect from some of my superiors. Although I may not be that well in competitive battling, I have to say that my strategies are superb; Speed is everything, and excellent Attack or Special-Attack is a good secondary, but when things get slow, make sure to give the opponent a run for his money with a powerful one-hit smash. There are people who still best me, but in the world of Pokemon, that's just how it is.

So, with all of my familiarity with my favorite subject in school, Pokemon, it's not surprising that I would be one to study the Legendaries that everyone talks about so much. It would perk up anybody's curiosity when someone talked about a Pokemon who delivered nightmares on a new moon, or one who raised continents on the planet. I have dug and dug and dug, and although I am still new on the Sinnoh field, I have my talents. One of them is, of course, writing, and another of them is imagination.

Now, you start with basic facts, add some legends from the ancients and a bit of rumors to spice things up, and then mix in creative writing and a good head on your shoulders with awesome eye-sight, and you have a great idea for a project! It's the basic recipe, folks, and that's what got me started on this log years ago!

Let's start from the classics and make our way to the new kids on the street in chronological order of the regions, of course starting with Kanto:

Moltres, the Fire-Type Legendary Bird from the chain of islands that sits far off of the coast of Kanto, is an interesting little thing. I have seen her flying around a bit without the other two, so I've gotten some exclusive information on her alone. Although it's not much…but, she likes Tamato berries! That's something, right? Oh, and she seems to always go out with a 'bang', and I mean literally, a bang! Being a Fire-Type, that's something I should expect, anyways, but….

Articuno, the Ice-Type Legendary Bird from the same islands who has been my favorite since I was a kid, is normally seen flying around his island and twittering to nothing in particular. I've tried to follow him once, but that ended with a terrible blizzard and numb feet and fingers, so I won't try that again…. He prefers Yache berries, of course, and has a bush of them outside of his cave (or at least I think it's his cave; he goes into it from time to time).

Zapdos, the final Bird Legendary of the famous trio on the islands, is a bit…strange. I have made many observations, and the data says that Zapdos is a girl, but…she doesn't interact with the males like the other females do, and is constantly fighting with Articuno so roughly it's like she's a tomboy or something. I can't figure it out, but I will find out…one day….

Moving on from the trio, here comes the classic: Mew. I haven't seen that little cat, and I'm still not even sure whether he's a guy or not; but I suppose he is, because otherwise why would Mewtwo be a guy? He's more elusive than all of the Legendaries put together, always disappearing before I even realize he's there, so I've got a lot of work ahead of me.

Then, his 'clone' who really looks nothing like him other than some feline similarities, Mewtwo. He is barely considered a Legendary if only for the fact that Arceus decided he should be one because of his link with Mew, but he seems to just be a really hyped-up normal Wild Pokemon or something; he was man-made instead of Arceus-made, hates having to deal with humans, and prefers to be left alone. But he is one of my favorite! He constantly tours the world, however, so if I want to watch him I have to follow him as well, and he does not sleep often. Ugh…and last time he went through a tropical jungle…damn Carnivine and Toxicroak! Payapa berries seem to be his kind of taste, and I'm planning on trying to get a talk with him by using some in exchange for a moment.

Now, we go into Johto, with its awe-inspiring Mt. Silver and dangerous whirlpools at the Whirl Islands:

Raikou, the Legendary Thunder-Tiger (although he's really a canine, I like to think of him as a tiger after reading about it somewhere on the internet) of the Johto plains, is one of the fastest Pokemon I have ever thought of (since I can't really say met). I have seen glimpses of him on my wild searches where I run after Legendaries to try to get some photos, but not enough to satisfy me. I want to try to find a way to lure him out, but I have no clue what he likes, so that'll be tough. I'll have to play 'guess-and-check' on this one.

Suicune, the Legendary Water Wolf and the one most commonly seen, is perhaps one of the more popular Legendaries because she is the one I see most often. At least, I think it's a girl; seems too feminine to be a guy. Anyways, I have actually been able to stand at a distance and watch her drink water she has just purified, and it really takes your breath away when she looks over her shoulder to examine you. And then, to make things all the more unbelievable, she walked up to me! I actually got to touch her muzzle! I was amazed, really, and that night I couldn't stop smiling. I guess not all of the Legendaries are afraid of humans after all!

Entei, the Fire Lion (again, he's a dog, but this sounds cooler) of hopes and dreams, does the same thing as Raikou; runs. I have only seen him from a long distance, such as on a mountainside far, far away, and I really hope that one day he'll be like Suicune and say 'hey' or something. I mean, what am I gonna do? Catch him? (Scoffs) Right.

Now stepping away from the Dog Trio, how about the two birds? Lugia? Ha, you're funny. I've only seen Lugia from the crests of waves, and whenever I go diving I only see the Silver Dragon's tail slip away into the darkness. I'm not even sure what gender it is! I do know that there was some kid who saved the world or something riding on that thing's back, but I don't believe it – I mean, how could some ten-year-old be able to do something and see a Legendary that I can't? Oh, well, I suppose anything is possible…but that doesn't mean I believe it.

Then there's Ho-oh, who's the complete opposite of Lugia in every respect. I see that bird nearly every morning flying high up in the clouds, seeming to taunt me with how unreachable he was. I swear, sometimes I get so annoyed by Pokemon that I don't even talk to my own for a while, but eventually I forgive them for something they didn't even do and move on. Hey, one day, I might get a chance to laugh at that rainbow-feathered butt as Lugia Aeroblasts it or something. Heh…it'd be nice….

With the two Precious Birds and the Dog Trio out of the way, that leaves Celebi, the forest sprite of Johto that could fit in a Tyranitar's mouth. I have never been to her forest (yet), so I haven't seen her, but I've heard that she often flits along the branches, a glowing green light among the trees that no one can really catch (unless, you know, they're evil). I want to see this sight myself, especially whenever it time travels; I've heard the forest lights up like an aurora, and it sounds fantastic!

Now we go from Johto to Hoenn, the place that I enjoy probably the most because of its clever Pokemon and strange people as well as exotic landscapes. The Legendary Pokemon that live here are:

The three Regis, Regice, Regirock, and Registeel. Yes, I clumped them all together into one paragraph, and the reason for that is simply this: I don't know enough about any of them to make more than a few sentences. It's creepy, though, that when I listen to them for so long, I think I may actually understand them. It might just be my imagination. Also, I will assume their genders, because I'm not exactly sure – Regirock seems like a laidback or cool guy, Regice has a high-pitched voice but still gives me the impression of a male, and Registeel seems to be like a tomboy female. Haven't you noticed that Registeel seems to be wearing a skirt? An author, SilverUmbra, pointed that out, and now I have to agree that, yes, it does look like a skirt or something. And the genders are mostly from her observations, not mine because frankly, I haven't spent much time researching them. I'm sorry to say I've neglected them, but I've just been much too busy with the others to really care. Sorry, Proff, but maybe you could give me some pointers on them, they're welcomed whole-heartedly!

Skipping over them for now, let's go to Hoenn's major counterparts, which just happen to be Groudon and Kyogre. I haven't seen or heard of them since the giant battle they had recently, but I've heard that they're still active because occasionally there are reports around the world of things happening that relates to those two. I just wish that they would battle again, so that I could watch them duke it out and then have Rayquaza come down and beat on them to make them stop…heh, that'd be cool….

And Rayquaza? Well, I've seen a lot more of him than Mew, but only from a distance; at least with Mew, it's always around the corner or something, but with the Ozone Dragon, it's more than a thousand feet above me! He's always roaring at sunset, and I can tell it's him because I've listened to so many Dragon Pokemon to know one when I hear one, and I can tell how powerful it is just by listening. And his roar? Oh, it is commanding. Makes you want to roar with him. (I do sometimes, but only on my missions when it's just me and my Pokemon)

Now, the two Eon Siblings Latias and Latios are going to be condensed into one paragraph because they are almost never apart; the older blue brother never leaves his sister's side, unless it's to go to the bathroom, and so there's no need to describe them separately. I've never been to Alto Mare myself, but I've seen it at a distance and watched for anything 'strange', aka Legendaries. Latias seems like a kind, carefree spirit who is still shy and needs time to warm up to someone, mostly because Latios scares her into hiding from strangers. But, in truth, she is too curious for her own good, and every once in a while she will slip away from her brother (freaking him out) and explore around a bit, having a little fun. She actually scared me once; when I was looking at their town with a powerful telescope and couldn't find her, suddenly her face popped right in front of the lens and I found myself staring straight into her curious golden eyes. I flipped out and fell backwards, which ended up scaring her away, but afterwards when I realized what had happened I laughed. An almighty Legendary, scared by a puny human? She (or, more likely, her brother) could have blasted me to the far reaches of Palkia's domain with a head-on Zen Headbutt or Dragon Pulse. (A/N: I'm ignoring the movie Pokemon Heroes because I want Latios alive, dammit!)

Jirachi is an adorable little fellow who is shy but fun, kind of like Latias in the paragraph above, and he for some reason has still been here even thought it's been more than a week (in fact, it's been about a month of him staying so far). I don't know exactly why yet, but I'll figure it out later; now, I'm using this opportune time to make as many observations of him as possible, not wanting to waste any before he has to go again.

Deoxys…well, it's hard to describe him. Alien Pokemon from space? And he comes to land on our planet? I've heard a lot about this guy, but meeting him in person – or at least via telescope – is totally different than the stories. He's mystical, mystifying, and mysterious, to use an alliteration to describe him and say basically the same thing three times. I don't know too much about him, and, like Mewtwo, he travels around the world, but he rarely contacts the humans in any way, shape, or form. In fact, most people think he's disappeared! But, I've caught a brief glance of him before, so I know he's still here. I'm just waiting to actually meet him, though, like, in person person. You know, instead of behind a telescope? I'd like to see him up close and make an evaluation from what I see of him.

We're finally on the way to Sinnoh, the latest region as of yet. I'm sure there will be more, but for now let's see what's confined into this frontier:

Is Rotom even considered as a Legendary? Well, there's only one, really, so I suppose so…. He's a little electric dude who is as erratic and eccentric as a twitchy Psyduck on Tinymushrooms. He's also very ambitious, trying to be as great as the big Legendaries like Zapdos or Raikou, and he gets hurt very often. Not on purpose, of course…except for Zapdos, who enjoys hurting him. I've seen her cackling whenever he trespasses and she has a 'right' to attack him. Poor guy….

I don't know enough about the Spirit Trio of Sinnoh to make separate, perhaps short, paragraphs for each of them, so I'll just kind of try to say something smart here: Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf have some type of radar or something that tells whenever a human is around, for whenever I finally get to the area they are in, they disappear! They are extremely clever, as I soon found out after they set up a trap for me and I had to outrun two Nidoking and a Tyranitar. Little bastards….

Now we come to the Celestial Brothers, Dialga and Palkia. I'm cheating once more, because, frankly, I haven't been able to study the Sinnoh Legendaries too much, in fact less then the other regions. I do know that they like to reside in a different dimension, although they are separated into two separate ones now after the last fight they had – they most have done something bad and messed up something or another (maybe that's what happened to Jirachi's time limit?).

For some reason, all of the Legendaries avoid Heatran's volcano. I don't know why, seriously; even if it was the smell, surely one of the other Fire-Types would be its friend, and if it was the location, again, Entei and Moltres wouldn't have a problem. I've actually been up there once, but it chased me out of there rather savagely, and I haven't tried again. It looks very scary when it's mad….

Regigigas, surprisingly, is a Normal-Type, which really threw me for a loop (I had assumed he was Psychic or something), although he's anything but normal. After all, he's a Legendary! I wish I could tell you much more, but that's all I really know; it's hard to make up facts about this guy. I can tell you that he's big! He's, like, five times the size of any of the Regis!

Giratina, the Lord of Death, is illusive to me, even with my awesome skills. I have never seen the Legendary for more than a few moments, and even then I mostly see just a wing or his feet and he disappears into the cave before I can adjust my telescope fully. So, I guess I'll have to actually venture out to find him. That might lead to some problems, with him being the Legendary of Death guarding the gateway to the Underworld…hmm….

Cresselia is the Legendary of the Crescent Moon and good dreams. Naturally, Jirachi hangs out with her, most likely to fulfill someone's wishes. Man, they're both so nice…. But, I've seen her fight with Darkrai once, and boy, can she fight! I just hope they don't kill each other…I rather like my dreams, good or bad….

'Darkrai isn't supposed to exist', Professor Cedar said. 'That's impossible,' he told me. Well, ha, Cedar, guess what? I have seen him! Haha! Trying to trick me into believing he wasn't real…stupid scientists…. Err…but, other than the fact that he exists? I got nadda. (Nods, then shoos away) Carry on. Well, wait, I know that he can use Palkia and Dialga's special-uber moves (I've seen him use them both on Cresselia), and I think it's not fair. Did he use cheat codes or something?

I decided to throw Shaymin in here because I couldn't find it in the Pokedex, but…this is really all I know: it's green and white with flowers on its back. See? I don't know everything…. I've still got a lot to learn. Err, anyone of your 'stupid' scientists nice enough to talk to me about it?

Manaphy is the Prince of the Sea, joining the Guardian of the Sea (Lugia) and the Creator of the Sea (Kyogre) in hierarchy. I wonder what he's like…. He stays with the currents nearly all of the time, roaming the seas in search of the perfect home. Personally, I think that Slateport was the best place, but…maybe too many tourists…hmm…. I've tried floating with him, but I nearly drowned and had to have Hunter drag me out and use CPR on me. And a Ghost/Poison-Type giving you mouth-to-mouth? Not fun.

And finally, Arceus, the God of the Pokemon and Creator of all. He…must hate me. I lied before when I said Mew was the most elusive, because Arceus is the definition of elusive! Does he really exist? I mean, I have never seen him, or heard of him, or…or anything! If he does, well, he must think of me as a threat or something…which is stupid, so yeah, he can't exist. I mean, who gets threatened by me? I'm short, lazy, clumsy, irresponsible, easily confused, (you can stop me anytime now, Proff!) hard to feed, easy to escape from, an inexperienced Trainer, can't keep my attention on one thing for too long, I sleep heavily, I –

Okay, I get it, Megan.

DL.

Alright, so that's all of the Legendaries (from Kanto to Sinnoh, at least). Did you enjoy the tidbits you learned? I know, you may already know some of this, but that's what I've gotten from my observations. As I type this onto my laptop to communicate to the rest of the world, I mull over all of this information I've learned everyday for the past few years, such as the way I can get so close to the Legendaries without getting attacked or confronted. It really makes me wonder, actually…it seems too easy to do this. I mean, I may have a super powerful telescope developed by some of the most advanced scientists so I can be far away from them, but still, Palkia knows what's happening everywhere in the present and Rayquaza is watching the world with Ho-oh…why haven't they done anything about it yet?

Hmm, quite a report you have there, Megan.

It's DL.

They are one and the same person.

Grr…well, I guess time will tell what I will learn, so for now I will be signing off and – I just heard something…what was

Megan?

Message end.

DL has just lost connection.
