Hi! I decided to edit this since last time it had a lot of mistakes(thank you so much to the people who give me a favorite, I promise that I didn't change the dialogues or anything substantial I just changed the fact that I'd started and ended all the dialogues with a - instead of " because that's how it's done in my language and I did it out of habit)
Anyway I hope you enjoy this n_n and it's also on my tumblr in case you'd seen it there
*whispers* I'm still in denial about Damian being dead... shhh
"Do you even know what is that for?" Tim said to the kid in front of him, who was staring at the moon bounce "Damian?" he called him again because of the lack of reaction from the kid.
"Tt… yes I know what is that for, Drake" Damian growled his shoulders tense and a frown in his face. He was glaring the yellow and red big moon bounce that was placed in front of him, just in the middle of the yard, like the thing had offended him.
Tim stood there awkwardly for a few seconds. Shrugging he decided to turn and leave, if what Damian wanted was sulking in privacy, who was him to take it away from him? "Drake" Damian called him, not even turning his face to look at the older boy, before he went as far as 4 steps away from him "do you know the reason why my father brought this… item to the manor?"
"Dick's coming tomorrow, maybe it has something to do with that" he turned, uneasy about the boy's tone, there was something about Damian's stance that made him look like the child he was supposed to be, small and vulnerable, even though he knew that said kid could easily break his neck if he wanted, he'd tried enough times for Tim not to know this. He waited a little more this time, but he decided to leave after the kid didn't move or gave any indication of planning on doing so for that matter.
Dinner went smooth, considering that it was only himself and Alfred since Bruce had a meeting at Wayne Enterprises and he'd be staying on the penthouse for the night, and Damian… well he honestly had no idea of what the little demon was doing right now, but he could hear his dog (hellhound) barking outside and since he had an obsession of having the dog beside him at almost at times, it could only mean that Damian was still on the yard glaring holes into the moon bounce, he absently wondered what did he have against the thing, how had the inanimate object offended him so much that he felt the need of glaring at it all night? but let it go since it really wasn't any of his business.
The next day Dick arrived to find his younger brother staring bewildered to his baby brother, who was throwing daggers with his eyes to the red and yellow moon bounce he'd ordered a while ago.
"He's been like that for… Hell I'm not even sure anymore" Tim said to Dick before the man announced his presence which at this point, with them being who they were, should no longer surprise him but honestly it did startled him a little, however "I think that he didn't even go on patrol yesterday, and when I woke up he was there with that notebook of his, so perhaps he stood there the whole night" Tim tone had a hint of worry on it, and when Tim's worried about Damian, it can only mean very, very bad news.
"Have you tried to talk to him?" Dick said, a brow raised and a little scowl on his face, getting closer to Tim.
"No, I tried yesterday but… well I didn't think it would end like this" Tim shrugged "besides it's not like the spawn would actually tell me, from all people, what's wrong"
"I'll talk to him" Dick said putting his hand over Tim shoulder "Nice to see you, by the way" he added with his trademark smile and a wink.
"You too" Tim smirked. He was really happy of seeing Dick again, but he understood that they'd have to catch up later, after this problem was solve.
The older man walked towards his baby brother who kept trying to melt with the cheer power of his hatred the poor object. He was dressed on a red hoodie that was at least one size larger and made him look smaller.
"You like it?" Dick asked getting closer to the boy. He wasn't surprised of the fact that Damian didn't react to him, as if he'd known that Dick was there since the moment he arrived, which could be true for all he knew.
"You're the one who brought it here?" Damian asked nonchalantly, still looking at the moon bounce as if it had personally damaged him.
"Well, kinda…but technically the company's men were the ones who brought it here" he said trying to lighten up the mood even when he was a little uncomfortable, he didn't know whether it was the fact that his eyes looked a little watered, or that they kept moving everywhere and still remaining in the yellow and red object, but there was something in Damian's eyes, something really sad and unsettling, and it was bugging him to no end.
"Why?" This time the question came out of Damian's mouth a bit more sharply. If Dick had paid more attention to his body, instead of his face, he would've noticed his hands trembling at the beginning, only to be later turn into fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
"Well… 'cus no child should live without bouncing at least once in one of this" he answered gleefully "so what you say little bro? you wanna bounce with me a little?" he asked moving his eyebrows in a way that had always amused, and amazed every member of his family, completely sure that it would work, sureness that died when in that moment Damian turned his glare towards him and hit him in the jaw, sending him to the ground, Tim raced to his bleeding brother's side the moment that happened.
"What is wrong with you?" Damian just stood there, as if he hadn't heard Tim.
."Damian, why did you hit me?" Dick said surprised, while caressing his chin trying to stand up. Damian's sight returned to the moon bounce.
The kid's scowl intensified "Just so you know I have already… bounced" he spit the word as if it was an insult "in one of those things and it is not that… fun" the word came as a whisper
"Really? When did that happen?" Tim asked confused, nearly dropping Dick because of the shock
"You truly don't miss her, do you?" Damian clenched his hands tighter "Why would you? you already had her, you already got to know her… she wasn't of any import to you anymore because she was no longer useful, that's why you never did anything to stop her, to keep her here, that's why it didn't bother you… any of you" he hissed, his voice full of anger and maybe it was just Dick but he was sure that there was a hint of sadness on the kid's voice.
"Who are you talking about?" Dick asked seeing Damian snap as if he was surprised that they were still there, that they'd heard him.
"No one, just forget what I said" he said lowering his head and leaving looking completely lost "and get rid of that stuff before I burn it" the scream didn't woke up the two boys from his shock, leaving them holding each other, while looking how the kid's figure faded into the house.
They were used to Damian's bursts and tantrums but those were never emotional, with him so… spaced out.
The moment he arrived to his room, slamming his door rather loudly, Damian tossed his sketchbook to the bed and took a little black box from the bottom of his closet, opened it and drew a photo from it. He kept staring at the picture for more than an hour, and all he could think about was how he'd never be able to forgive his father and Gordon, the "new" batgirl who, even though he'd never acknowledge her, was suitable for the job, for convincing Stephanie, the only person, apart from Dick of course, who really loved him for who he was and not for who she wanted him to be, that it would be better for her to stay on England and going to college there.
He fell asleep with the picture on his hand, Titus curled up on his feet. The image showed a blonde girl smiling and hugging with an arm a very "displeased" boy, who was a little blushed and had the ghost of a smile in his mouth, while holding the camera with the other hand, the background looked blurry because of the movement, but one could still distinguish the colors of the moon bounce. The yellow and red.
So this started as an one-shot but as I was editing it I thought about giving it a happy ending so there'll be another 2 chapters
