Colouring Pens
(These characters belong to the author and not me unless you haven't heard of them before J please read and enjoy J thank you!)
A young five year old kid and his four year old best friend sat on the swings, swinging back and forth slowly. Their bodies were slightly turned towards each other. Any stranger who looked at them could tell that they were best friends. Some would even say that in the future they would fall in love and get together as a proper couple. But at the moment they were a little too young.
"Eddie you promised," four year old Bella complained to her best friend. She found him annoying most of the time but he was her best friend and she did secretly enjoy playing with him. Five year old Edward Cullen smiled at her, showing off the gaps in his teeth where he had lost two teeth, one from the bottom and one from the top that week.
"No I didn't," he lied, sitting next to her on the swings. He couldn't help but stay turned towards her as they swung back and forth. Their mothers were sitting on a bench not too far away, keeping one eye on their children as they spoke.
"Yes you did Eddie, pleeease," Bella pouted at him. She knew he wasn't very good when she pouted. He had promised her that she could borrow his colouring pens but he had 'forgotten' them. Edward shook his head and laughed slightly. He wasn't giving in so easily this time. He had always given in too easily to his best friend.
Bella crossed her arms across her chest and stood up, finally giving up with the pouting. "Fine, go find a new best friend!" she told him and stormed off in anger to go hide under the slide. Not many kids went under there because they thought ghosts hid under it. Bella didn't believe in ghosts. She didn't care either. She was a brave kid. She was strong and determined too.
Edward stopped swinging and sat still. He didn't want to go look for a new best friend. He liked his best friend so why would he want to go look for another one? He knew he would have to go after Bella but he knew it was best to wait a few minutes since she would need time to calm down.
After a few minutes Edward got off the swing and headed over to the swing. He popped his head under the slide and saw his best friend sitting in the corner, looking straight at him and frowning.
"I'm sorry Bella, please let me be your best friend again," he begged, sitting next to her. He took her hand in his and held on, refusing to let it go even when she tried to pull away. She sighed and gave up trying to pull away and just let him hold it. She shook her head. "Please Izzy, you can borrow my pens and paper when you want, anytime!" he offered. Bella smiled at him. He knew when he used her name like that she couldn't say no.
"Fine," she said and kissed his cheek. He blushed but smiled at her. He was glad they were the best of friends again. He loved his best friend. And she loved him.
