My 1st ever fanfiction, so be nice. I apologize in advance for any spelling mistakes.
Thank You
She shot up with a jolt. Remembering the incident a few days before, she began shaking. She screwed her eyes closed before the tears and sobs could begin. But to no avail.
Her frame was racked with sobs from her chest. She curled up, pulling her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around them.
The room was empty of inhabitants except for her. But, even though she was under the blankets of her bed, she felt cold.
The incident before flashed through her mind and her sobs grew frantic. No one was there to comfort her. She was alone.
Her team had fallen apart: one of her teammates left her – even though she begged him not to; another had gone to get him back and seriously injured himself; her sensei was on a mission and she was here, crying all her anguish out.
Her sobs slowly subsided as she rocked herself gently on the bed. Once she was sure she wouldn't fall to her knees, she stood up and quickly grabbed a towel and a change of clothes.
She practically ran into the bathroom and quickly turned the hot water on. She stood there, letting the water run over her tense muscles as she struggled to loosen them.
She finally gave up. Turning the hot water off, she wrapped her towel around her and stepped out onto the bathroom mat. She dressed in no less than a minute and sat blow drying her hair. There were three quick raps on her door. She quickly turned off her hair dryer and made her way to the door.
Upon opening the door, she saw her blond haired teammate. She smiled at him, a quick, half-hearted lift of her lips, and stepped back to let him in. He quickly stepped in; afraid she would close the door on him, no doubt. He quickly took his shoes off and she guided him to the table. She didn't say anything.
He didn't say anything, he didn't do anything. He wouldn't open his mouth to speak a word in case she would break down. She quickly poured some tea for him and silently gave him a small cup. She led him over to a chair and made him sit down, mindful of the hot, steaming tea in his hand. He turned to look at her. She was so different.
Her jade eyes which were normally energetic and full of life were now dull and faded. Her bubble-gum pink hair was dishevelled and she had dark bags underneath her downcast eyes.
As soon as he took in those key features he turned his head and took a sip of the tea. She had noticed him examining her as she had been doing to him. His big blue eyes were blood-shot – a sign of sleepless nights - , his face was drawn and his headband was not on his forehead. His hair flopped down over his face.
She looked away, not wanting to be caught. She took her own cup and sat opposite him. She didn't drink; instead she sat watching the ripples that gently floated across the surface of her drink.
He watched her silently. She sighed, the tears began to pour and she squeezed her eyes shut. He finished the last of his tea and moved to her side. He pulled her into a tight embrace, trying to soothe the broken girl.
She looked at him with eyes that echoed his last words:
