Chronicles of the rising wolf

The Small fishing village of Cassardis wasn't what you'd call a remarkable village; it was one of the larger settlements besides the Capital of Gran Soren. For the people of Cassardis there was no true need to leave the town we had a supply of fish and grew our own crops and a small spring was just beyond the gate near our small Cathedral providing fresh water. This was the world I had known for the past 16 years and little did I know my world was about to be torn asunder and I would be forced to go beyond the familiar walls and faces to have a life changing adventure. My name is Ventus Goodfisher and I am the Arisen

It was mid-afternoon and the fishermen for the day were bringing in their nets and tying their boats at the dock, I had just finished changing out of my wet clothing after I fell into the water, thankfully I wasn't deep enough for the brine to come after me. The village elders had said that the brine preferred the deeper waters, though rather curiously the brine only seemed to feed upon non-aquatic animals. Hearing the knights of Gran Soren I made my way towards the gates I was an outcast in the village as I was the only one of my kind, and as far as I knew the last of my kind, nobody had seen a Rapax elf for at least a decade in Gransys. Seeing my childhood friend Quina coming I waved at her and started to walk towards her before there was a loud crash and we all looked towards the water, even the knights shut up, glancing at Quina I opened my mouth to say something before a villager came running up the hill.

"I-It's the dragon!" the villager yelled and there was a collective gasp among the villagers and murmurs filled the air.

"It might just be a big drake." I said hopefully and got looks from the elders that said 'that's what a dragon is.' Hearing a roar we all looked up and saw a gigantic crimson shape in the sky the pier collapsing into the water and panic broke out as the dragon landed on the shore and roared several people collapsing near it looking around I saw a sword on the ground and grabbed it, Quina raising her hand.

"Ventus no!" she yelled and I raced towards the dragon and after trying in vain to climb up its legs I began hacking at its legs only being rewarded with faint thumps on the scales.

Eventually the dragon struck back but I managed to stab its front hand as it sent me flying along the shore. Grunting a bit I tried to get up my whole body screaming in pain my golden eyes squinting up as the dragon flexed its hand and pushed the sword out and I watched as it clunked to the ground, I could feel my cauliflower blue hair being soaked through, hearing the dragon starting to say something I looked up at it, my eyes widening as I saw it's claw moving towards me one finger outstretched and as soon as it touched my chest a fresh bout of pain ripped through me and I felt my body being lifted off the ground before I was dropped back in the water, feeling weak I slowly looked up and a sense of horror filled me as I saw my still beating heart on the dragon's talon as it slowly lifted its hand up to its mouth and my heart glowed as it floated into the dragon's Maw and vanished from sight, I weakly raised my hand in vain to stop it.

Is this, the end? I thought as I collapsed and my vision faded into darkness as the Dragon tensed before flying away.
