Chapter 1

In all my life, I never thought that I would live to see the world like it is now. No one knows quite how it happened, but in a few short weeks, Germany went from a major world power to the ruler of the entire planet. The new president, Heinrich Rommel, inspired a massive rebellion against the government and destroyed any hopes of democracy. He declared himself Emperor and took drastic military actions against his neighbors, claiming the territory for himself. After the invasion of France, the rest of Europe surrendered.

New Germany's borders expanded exponentially, absorbing Africa and most of Asia. The Australians fought back; the continent has since been deemed inhospitable due to the extreme radiation. South America gave in within the first three weeks of the revolution, wanting to avoid a fight. The USA and Great Britain obviously told Rommel where to shove his terms of surrender. Japan, China, and the Russian Federation still stand strong with America and England, having signed non-aggression treaties and swearing to fight the Fourth Reich, as New Germany calls itself.

I would've been involved in the war that ensued two months after Germany's first attack, but I returned to Italy, my country of birth, a week before the first shots were fired. Italy had given in to Heinrich's rule after France fell, but only after being granted exemption from the military should war break out. My family and I decided to seek refuge in a protected country after hearing of the United States president's intentions to strike the Germans in what was formerly known as North Korea.

The Resistance, as they call themselves, wiped out a major military base in Korea. The Reich retaliated, sending troops to repel the American forces. Several other skirmishes have been initiated across the globe. No decisive victories have been claimed by either side, but the German reserve seems endless. The money never seems to end; neither does the military shrink from casualties. The Resistance is beginning to waver, though. More and more die each month, fighting an endless army. Soon, the fighting will end, and the last free places on Earth will fall to these tyrants. I wish I could help, but what good would that do? I'm only one man, and to take on the Reich would be suicide at this point. What will happen if Germany prevails?

Hello. I just got this idea a week ago, and this is just a synopsis of past events in the story. Present events will be in the next update, I swear. In the meantime, please read, review, and enjoy what I hope will be a great story!
