A/N: My very first fanfiction post! Hope you all enjoy! Thanks to TheSingingPterodactyl for helping me with the description!

He stood silently in what was supposed to be the beginning of a solemn ceremony, but the grin on his face just wouldn't seem to go away. Seeing Connor all dressed up in a suit and tie, short hair for the occasion, and as nervous as a cat with a bucket of water made him all too happy to be there. He loved every detail about the place, from the couple to the wine and the flowers, but he knew he wouldn't have been their first choice of men to have come back just in time for the wedding. The two of them had lost a father, and more than one friend.

Still, Abby had asked him to walk her down the aisle.

And the sight of her, dressed up for her fiancée, didn't help his grinning in the slightest. She hid a laugh as they linked elbows, though he wasn't sure if she was laughing at his expression or his suit. She'd seen him in a tux before, and Connor, too, for that matter! But times were different then, back when they still had Sarah…

They reached the stage and Danny released her as he took his seat, his face unchanged for the last thirty minutes. Connor beamed at his soon-to-be wife as she blushed under her veil, and the minister began to speak. He stumbled over his first few words, to the surprise of those who knew him, since he never hesitated to speak. Ever.

As the ceremony came to a close, after tearful vows from both sides and sniffs from the audience, the long-await part finally came. The "I Do's".

"Do you, Connor Temple, take this woman, Abby Maitland, to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

Connor smiled, blushed, and looked like he was about to faint. "I do."

"And do you, Abby Maitland, take this man, Connor Temple, to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Abby, a little more steady on her feet, looked her lover in the eyes and said, "I do."

"Then I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss your bride." The audience stood and clapped as the couple sealed the wedding.

Over the noise, Danny whispered, "No twenty-one gun salute?" to the soldier on his left.

"Abby wouldn't like it." Becker tried not to smile.

"Not that he didn't try, you know!" Jess teased.

Mr. and Mrs. Temple took each others arms and exited the stage.

"Much better than last time, James." Jenny, the maid of honor, whispered to the minister before being escorted off the platform.

Duncan took the lady's arm, all too aware that she was already married.

Jack took Emily's elbow as he looked her over, receiving an ignored glare from Matt.

The rest of the audience left in orderly chaos. All except for one.

Danny looked around at the empty chapel and tried to imagine, for the newlyweds' sake, what their perfect wedding would have been like…

Cutter would have taken his place as the "father," and Stephen would've been best man. They'd have smiled as the professor never took his adoring eyes off them. Maybe Abby might have even let Stephen do a gun salute. They were so happy in his mind, and no one was missing. Nothing to cause remorse.

"Hey, Molly!" Connor called, interrupting Danny's thoughts.

"You really want to start with that nickname again, do you? Can't a man name a stick in peace?" He smiled and recovered quickly.

"It's me wedding day, I get to call you whatever I want!"

Danny chuckled.

"C'mon," Connor slapped him lightly on the back. "We're waiting on you for the toast!"

"As long as the nickname stays in the team." They laughed together as the husband and father went off to join the rest of the group.
