Disclaimer: I don't own Final Fantasy VI, (well, I own the game but.. yanno
what I mean.) or anything else square-related.
A/N: I'm sorry if anyone has ever done this before
Locke sat transfixed on the wedding ring he was planning to give Celes. Every time he saw it he couldn't help but to think of Rachel. His heart thumped with the thought of it on her finger. Then he had to face reality, he was marrying Celes; Rachel was dead. She even told him to get on with his life when he revived her after acquiring the phoenix.
"I must tell her," Locke muttered as he looked to the ground in sorrow, "but how, tomorrow's our wedding. I can't marry her when I still really love Rachel." It had never bothered him before; in fact he had tried with just about every girl he met to make some kind of connection with them at one point in time.
"If only she didn't die! It was my entire fault too! If only I wouldn't of." just then Edgar, who was appointed Locke's best man, came in.
"What's with the yelling? You're getting married tomorrow! You shouldn't be anything but blissful." Edgar boasted; Locke forged a smile.
"They're all so happy for me, I can't disappoint them all. Celes especially, even if she's only a replacement." Locke thought to himself, his whole body flinched at the thought.
"Heh! Heh! But I must. who cares about them.. I must.."
"Locke, you're seriously starting to scare me. Must be all the excitement of the big day tomorrow, eh? I suggest you lay down for awhile.."
"But I must tell Celes that.." before he could finish his sentence Edgar cut him off,
"You can't see her, not till after the wedding. Everyone knows that."
With those words, Locke's heart stopped. He couldn't marry her, he just couldn't! Not when every time he looked at her he saw Rachel's face..
A/N: Yeah, I know it's short but I'll continue it soon (even sooner if folks review. *pokes everyone reading with a twig*)
