Nails scraping, bodies moving
it's almost easy to forget
who we are
Without the make up,
without the mask
we can pretend we're human
Unexpectedly
Normal
It's almost as if we're pure
without blood on our hands
No buildings burned,
no blood's been shed
no battles to return to
We don't have to think about
Anything
But when the dawn sheds light
through our blind eyes
we can see everything
all too clearly
and then you turn to me and ask
'Why so serious?'
and I know I've been doomed
all over again
How many more lives
will be lost
before I break my One Rule
for my Crooked Lover?
