Alexander crept out of his room leaving his new bride asleep, he put his head out of the door and looked left and right there was nobody around so he moved silently toward Hephaistion's room.
When he arrived he knocked on the door before trying it, he found that it was unlocked so he slipped inside and closed the door quietly behind him.
The room was bathed in the silvery glow of the moon and a gentle breeze coming from the open window stirred the fabric on the bed, Hephaistion slept with his back to the door with one hand under his cheek, Alexander smiled Hephaistion still did that after all these years, he moved closers to the bed taking off his robe as he walked then he genteelly slipped the covers back and slid in next to Hephaistion spooning his body and wrapping his arms round Hephaistion's waist.
Hephaistion moved in closer and smiled as Alexander kissed the back of his neck and rested his head on his shoulder and as they did when they were boys drifted back to sleep and held each other till morning.
