Surprise, another Dean/Lisa Lisa POV 'reflection on Dean' fic! FROM ME! NEVER. xD

It's not hard to live with Dean.

Dean is not so different now from the man she had just been getting to know back in the days of murders and changelings. His smiles are a little rarer, he seems older-but they all do, in the dazed aftermath of what had seemed like the end of the world.

He joins in Ben's short-lived lemonade stand scheme, teaches him how to throw a curveball and stands outside in the cold when Ben's Boy Scout troop is selling Christmas trees. They eat her cooking disasters and Dean sets the back porch on fire on the Fourth of July and he's there when Ben falls off the rock climbing wall at the rec center and breaks his arm.

There's no reason to think he's in mourning, but she knows he is. It's in the little things-the way he won't eat pie at Thanksgiving, how he'll go out to the garage and peel the tarp off his car and stare at the cracked glass. He isn't glad when she has it fixed; in fact, he doesn't talk to her for a week.

Lisa remembers what Dean had told Ben after he broke his arm and didn't want to go to the hospital. "I've got your back," Dean had promised her son. She wonders who's got Dean's.

It's not so hard to live with Dean.

It's just that Dean seems to have trouble living with himself.
