A/N: Erm, so a little...thingy. Its not really a poem, but hey, whatever. I thought that it was a really good idea, even if it didn't come out right. This is dedicated to everyone who has ever felt like this, who has ever loved a friend. Including myself. See if you can guess who it is by the end.

Moons and Stars

She had looked at him in wonder.

He was her friend, her companion, her teacher. He was her cousin in name.

He had smiled at her with his soft smile, the one just for her.

He was the one who had taught her about the moon and stars.

He waited through her tantrums, listened to her when things would never seem to go right.

He had never laughed at her, or pushed her away like a small child.

He understood her, understood how it felt to be judged by who your parents are.

He knew what it was like to grow up in a shadow.

All through her life, before she could even remember, he had been her friend.

She wished he could be something more.

He was older, but so was his father, and hers.

He was her cousin-- not by blood, but by the bond that their parents shared.

They were alike in so many ways.

She had grown up admiring him.

He had always been there--

-- As a friend.

She wished…

-- Oh, how she wished,--

Wasn't this the land where dreams come true?

Her parents, her aunts and uncles, they had all found happiness here.

But how could she be happy when the one thing that she wanted could never be?

He would never feel the same, she thought.

He was so close, standing there, but he had never been farther away.

He was everything to her.

He was the moon and the stars.

She only wished that she could tell him.

She could only dream that he felt the same.

But dreams could never satisfy her.

She could not stand it any longer.

With a sigh, she rose, going over to him.

She couldn't live like this any longer.

There was no chance that he felt the same, but she had to know…

After all, wasn't this the land where dreams come true?

Her only dream was to be his moon and stars.

A/N: Ahh, well. I don't think it was that great. Anyhoo, this is written about Sarralyn and Thom. Ever think about that? I was reading TQ, and it talked about him explaining the moon and stars to her. Jolly, innit? Well, R&R, as always!
