A/N: Warning, my best friend's and my 3 oc's only, ftw. No, we do not pair them with anyone other than each other. It's about Alternia after the main trolls went to the game, and what all the others were left to face. Bored as hell, that's all I have to say.

(In the Dark)

Marely stared up at the sky, tears falling from his eyes. The meteoroids rained from the black atmosphere, deep orange streaks clashing against the background. No one knew why their world was ending, but Alternia was crumbling around them just the same. None of them ever even knew that twelve, only twelve, trolls had found salvation.

All the others were left to perish.

Lux stood beside his matesprit with a wistful smile, grabbing Marely's hand gently. Terina, Marely's devoted moirail, gave no sign of grief, or sadness, just morbid acceptance.

Other trolls had gathered here to watch the sky fall, low bloods to high, and the caste system abandoned. A wild burst of wind carried the distant whispers of a distraught lusus. Terina, a low-blood, placed a hand over her eye. Marely's eyes widened in horror as vivid orange blood seeped from the corners of her mouth.

"Teri—" before he could react, Marely saw that other trolls around them began to bleed uncontrollably as well. The whispers grew louder still, and Terina dropped like a fly, as did the aforementioned bleeding low-bloods.

Shrieks of terror filled the air as the remaining trolls discovered their friends, companions, dead. Marely shivered, Lux clenching his thin arms around him. His beloved Lux was going to die too, and there was absolutely nothing Marely could do to prevent this. No one should ever be made to be this helpless, this hopeless, and yet Marely was unbearably so.

They looked on in horror as the mid-bloods began to bleed out, the voice of the lusus rising higher in volume. Soon, just four trolls, the high-bloods remained. Lux looked up at Marely, eyes filled with dread. There was a pause in the whispering wind.

"It's ok" Lux said decisively, staring into Marely's sad magenta eyes with adoration. "I'm not afraid to die if I can die with you" his voice dropped off to a whisper "I'm not afraid of the dark when you're right there"

Marely kissed Lux as the wind picked back up, this time the lusus was talking. Sky blue blood streamed from Lux's eyes, mixing with Marely's vivid pink. Darkness, cold and absolute, swallowed them up, and gravity dragged them to the ground, both still desperately clutching each other.

Was there an after life? Would they ever see each other again in the face of eternity?

They hoped.

A/N: Sad and dumb, but I like it, so whatever. Happy Thanksgiving!
