Pale pink rose petals float across the floor pushed by a gentle breeze as Cannon in D plays softly in the background. Everyone stands and turns toward the door. Jack holds his breath as light from the setting sun floods around two figures, one not so tall and slightly round the other he knows is slender but her figure is hidden beneath waves of white. A knot forms in his stomach as he watches the two figures move into focus and he sees that the bride is wearing a veil. He can see a smile on her face but something is off, the glow that is expected to be seen on a brides face is nowhere to be seen. His heart speeds up slightly as she continues down the aisle. Finally she is beside him but she doesn't stop. He turns and watches her continue toward the alter where her groom is waiting. Pete is wearing the traditional black tux as is Mark, who is standing beside him as the best man. Jack watches Sam make her way toward him while holding tightly to George's arm. Something in his head screams that this scene isn't right but he remains quiet as the service begins. George lifts Sam's veil and kisses her cheek then places her hand in Pete's and smiles at them both before turning to take a seat. Sam and Pete turns to face each other in front of the crowd. The officiator begins speaking of love and the happiness it brings to the lives of those who share it. While he is talking Jack looks at Sam and is surprised to see her looking at him, a sad look in her eyes. Before it registers in his mind she looks back at Pete and smiles sweetly as the officiator asks her to recite her vows. She talks about meeting Pete and how falling in love with him was easy and how she couldn't be happier taking this step with him toward the rest of their lives. As Jack listens he feels as though someone landed a punch squarely in his middle. Finally it's Pete's turn to talk. He talks about how he didn't know what living was until he met Sam and how he couldn't imagine living without her in his life. Jack feels himself getting lightheaded as he listens. Then he hears the officiator say the words that have the potential to end everything.

"If anyone knows a reason why these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace."

As Jack stands he feels time slow to a stop and before he can say anything two ushers grab him and start dragging him out. His heart begin to race as he fights against them to no avail. He turns for one last look at Sam to see her turning from Pete and stretching out a hand toward him.

"Jack," her voice echoes slightly as she calls to him.

He struggles to get free as he locks eyes with her, "Sam, I love you! Don't marry him!"

Before he can say more he feels himself being thrown and then he falls. He lands in a tangle of sheets and blankets on the floor. He sits up to find Sam looking down at him.

"Are you okay?" she asks, concern filling her voice.

Jack looks around to find himself in their bedroom and takes a deep breath to calm his racing heart.

"Yeah, just a bad dream," he says as he stands and grabs the blankets to set them back on the bed.

"I figured as much. You were calling my name, a lot."

Jack climbs back into bed next to her and pull her close, "Well it's over now and this is real."

He feels her smile against his chest, "It finally is."

As they drift back to sleep Jack breathes in her scent and relaxes with the love of his life in his arms.
