Hi everyone!
I absolutely loved how last year D18 day fell during my break, so I could take as long as I wanted to to write any fanfics.
Sadly this year, it falls the days right before my hardest final. (T_T)
So I took a bit of time off and wrote a quick and short drabble. I hope you enjoy!
I do not own Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
"Romario, do you think I'm suited to be a boss?" Dino asked one day after a rather stressful day at work. Negotiations with the Millifiore family were not going well. The meeting room was in complete chaos.
"Absolutely, Boss," Romario replied with out a moment's hesitation.
Dino sighed; of course he expected this answer.
"No, really Boss. You're so kind towards your subordinates, you care for the family, and you are strong."
Dino sighed once more. Being declared soft wasn't really becoming of a mafia boss.
When Romario had finally left, undoing his tie and settling down into a large sofa, he dialed Tsuna to relay the meeting with Byakuran.
"Tsuna, it looks like Byakuran's making his move. You'd better watch out. Today's negotiations did not end well."
Dino could hear a somber sigh from across the line. "Dino, do you really think I'm suited to be a boss? I'm no good at trying to talk to other bosses. "
"Funny you should say that. I just asked Romario the same thing."
A slight chuckle from Tsuna came out. "But the thing is, you're actually a good boss!"
"Eh? I don't know about that."
"Dino, family actually loves you."
"Well, so does yours," Dino retorted.
Tsuna without hesitation replied with a flat, "No way! Destroying a building a day and sending me the paperwork is not love."
Dino smiled to himself. That's Tsuna all right.
"Take care, Tsuna."
"You too, Dino."
Something still felt off though. Sitting up a tad straighter, he dialed the first number that came to his mind.
"What."
How like his adorable student. The tone was neither interrogative nor annoyed, simply of indifference.
"Say, Kyoya, do you think I'm suited to be a mafia boss?"
"Hmph, good-bye."
"Wait! Wait! Kyoya! Answer me, seriously."
Dino interjected a few pants in between, his heart racing.
"Nobody seems to tell me the truth. I don't want something sugarcoa-"
"It suits you."
That one line in a barely audible tone, "It suits you."
"Didn't you listen to me? I want th-"
"It suits you.
It suits you.
It suits you. Your subordinates follow you because they respect you. The reason the respect you is because of the way you care for them," Hibari explained boredom apparently lacing his voice.
Just like that, Dino's shoulders relaxed.
"You make everything complicated sound so simple."
"No, you just make everything more complicated."
Dino let out a soft giggle. "I suppose I do. Hey, do you really think I'm a good mafia boss?"
Dino knew he sounded like a little kid, but he didn't mind.
"You're a satisfactory mafia boss."
"Eh? Only satisfactory?"
"Still too much of a herbivore."
"I suppose that is true."
"It is, but," Hibari purred seductively into the phone. "I can think of something you're better at."
Dino's grin turned into a smirk and said, "I'll be right over."
Owari
Omake
"Neh, Kyoya, how do you suppose I fix the whole Byakuran deal?"
"Kill him."
"I think that's oversimplifying things too much."
Thanks for reading. I should go back to studying for finals now.
If you find any mistakes, feel free to tell me. I'm kinda anxious as to how the layout of this will turn out. My last one was fine on docmanager, but the published format was all...messed up.
Until next time!
