A/N: This story is a preview of what I want to write. I have it all planned out, but it was an idea I came up with based on what little I knew of Jack Frost before the release of the movie. For reasons that make me bitter, I still haven't seen this movie. -slowly dying- So, based on that information and spoilers I've caught glimpses of while trying to avoid like the Black Plague- I present to you this choppy preview of a fanfiction in the making. The actual fic will come out once I've seen my Guardians in action~ Title pending, feel free to give suggestions! Don't forget to drop a review!

Disclaimer: I do not own anything to do with Rise of the Guardians, if I did there would be a spin off series with Jack and Hiccup from HTTYD, which I also do not own.

Navy water engulfed his whole being, surrounding him, invading his senses, restricting his movements. Jack's eyes felt heavy the pressure robbing him of his sight, his ears became waterlogged and sounds became blurred background noise. His nerves grew numb and his clothing became heavy, dragging him further into the watery abyss.

Struggling upwards, something small- something dark told Jack that it was futile. That he should give up. Give in. Stop struggling and it would be over. He almost listened...

Jack didn't realize how long it had been since he came out of the lake. Strangely, it was the farthest he could recall, the rest of his memories were blurry, vague and somewhat frustrating to deal with. He didn't need to dwell on the past though, not with powers like these- it made living in the present much more fun. Flying, seeing new places and all this freaking snow! Who the hell could ever get tired of snow!?

It had been a month since the incident. Since her older brother left. Sometimes she wished that he had really just left- abandoned her and their mom, then she could hate him for leaving and it would be so much simpler. Instead it was her fault he was gone. He fell, trying to protect her, and even though she was okay, Jack wasn't.

She could never bring herself to hate him- he was her big brother after all. But secretly she thought it would be easier to hate him than to hate herself for not being able to save him. Jack had always looked out for her.

It had been a month when Jack decided it would be more fun to play with someone else instead of messing around by himself all the time. It would be better to laugh with friends than alone, but... Jack couldn't ever remember having any friends.

Pft, if Jack wasn't himself he'd make sure he was at least friends with himself. Because, in all honesty, Jack liked himself. Sure he might have a bit of an ego, but he was a fun guy to be around. It's not like he could remember anybody that disliked him, (or liked him...) with the next thought, Jack told himself that making friends wouldn't be that hard, he'd do it.

And he wouldn't makes just any friends- he'd make the best friends anyone could imagine. With a promise declared to the sky, Jack took off knowing exactly where he would start his hunt for companionship.
