A pitiful wail rings out in the midst of a thunderstorm in the middle of night, Rory bolts up and rushes to the room down the hall where a small child is sitting up in the middle of the bed, with tears running down their face. The tiny boy holds out his arms as Rory flips on the light switch, he chuckles and reaches out to sweep the little boy into his arms.
"What's the matter, Tatum?" He asks as he rocks the toddler back and forth.
"Stoooooooooooooooooooooorm!" He cries as he buries his face into his fathers chest.
Rory smiles and holds him close before a sudden flash of lightening lights up entire neighborhood before a crash of thunder knocks the power out, suddenly Tatum's not the only one wailing and Sebastian has jumped up and ran to his sons room to see what in God's name is going on in his house. When he reaches the room, its dark and his son and husband are nowhere to be found, scratching his head he sighs.
"Rory, I thought we'd gotten you out of the closet in high school?" He laughs as his husband stumbles out clutching Tatum to his chest.
"Hardy har har." He mutters as Sebastian wraps them both up in his arms.
Tatum wails again and Sebastian frowns, Rory suddenly has an idea. He cradles Tatum in his arm, wiping the tears from his sons face he begins to sing Come By The Hills, a popular song from the part of Ireland he was from. He rocked Tatum back and forth, as he swayed, his son staring captivated up at his father, storm forgotten. Sebastian smiles and sways with his husband, his head dipping down to lay against his, Rory turns his face and places a kiss on his forehead, Rory continued to sing, as he carried the now sleeping boy back to his bed, tucking him back in they both kissed him on the forehead.
"Goodnight, Tate." They whisper as they retreat from the room, being sure to flip the switch back off as they walked hand in hand back to their bedroom.
