Diary of an Elderly Secret-Keeping Nurse

A/N: This was from a school project; I had to write a diary entry as the nurse from Romeo and Juliet, describing how she couldn't tell anyone of the doomed lovers' marriage. It's ridiculous and not written in any sort of fancy schmancy way, FYI (i.e. rhyme scheme, iambic pentameter). My teacher thought that it was funny though, and I got a 30 out of 30 points for it. (:

Disclaimer: Methinks I don't own Romeo or Juliet.

Another Day that Lord and Lady Capulet do not know of… methinks I should make someone else write this for I am ill-suited because of age

Dear Journal,

Alas, I'm getting too old for writing in this cheap paper document that stores my inner being. Any who… young, nimble Juliet could easily write down what she wants without pain in the joints. I would call her down to write this for me, though I believe she is with Romeo; it would be a sin to call her out to help the woman who helped raise her. Oh, I cannot tell of her marriage to the Romeo all because of his last name. Her parents would most likely strip Juliet of her last name and privileges… yet she has already given up her own last name. I mustn't reveal her marriage however.

What will come of her when she has to wed Paris? Her parents will not know of her wedding to Romeo, and she cannot be wed to two men at once. Oh my, I will be forced to play Hermes delivering excuses of why she would be stricken ill at the time of her wedding day after day. My old bones will not be able to take such agony. Why had she married to such a controversy, leaving me as her keeper? I cannot tell anyone but you, my precious secret bound parchment, for if they knew that I was an accomplice I'd be out onto the streets. My body is too frail to be a street woman! Oh Juliet, dearest Juliet… though I'm envious of the love between you and Romeo, what in the good lord's name are we going to have to do now?

A/n: Yes, this was awkward, I know. I just wanted to publish something else, and I finally found the Shakespeare section! Also, it was only fitting that I upload this while reading 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' in LA class as well. Thanks Billy Shakespeare! :P Reviews = 3
