Chasing Silhouettes
Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts. That sux…
"Roxas!" Sora growled out the boy's name. He hated how Roxas treated Namine. After all, the two existed for one another.
Roxas looked over his shoulder, ginning his trademark grin. Seeing his silhouette.
"What's up Sora?" Roxas' grin grew trying to hide his hurt. Like he had been doing since he met her.
Sora growled, "You know damn well 'what's up.'"
Roxas' smile faded to the frown that he had worn for moments like this.
"I'm not gonna talk to you Sora! Especially when it's none of your business."
Roxas turned to leave. He didn't love Namine, he loved her silhouette. He chuckled, or rather, her original.
"Roxas you can't keep treating Namine this way, she loves you."
Roxas' frown grew; he ruffled his hair, and started fidgeting with the zipper on his jacket.
Tears were beginning to pool in his aquamarine colored eyes.
"Sora, I can't love her back. Not the way that she deserves."
"Why?" Sora shook his head, his chocolate colored locks slightly bobbing with the motion.
"Because, I love Kairi."
Sora flinched at the name. She was their best friend, the princess of heart.
Roxas was never meant to be with her. To even know her, or that she existed. DiZ never wanted this to happen. Nobodies weren't even allowed to exist.
But they did.
Roxas met Kairi and fate changed. The more they learned about each other, they fell in love.
But Roxas was meant for Namine. And Sora was meant for Kairi.
But Roxas didn't want this; he didn't want a copy of what he could have.
Sora's eyes read the emotions of his other.
"Roxas you can't keep chasing after her. She doesn't exist for you."
Roxas felt himself cringe. All the wounds that Kairi had healed, the pain that she had gotten rid of, just by her existing started to burn.
"Isn't it her choice who she exists for?" He spat the words at Sora, and glanced at the ground.
Sora's face grew angered. His hands clenched into fists.
"Roxas! You can't keep chasing silhouettes!"
Roxas frowned, suppressing the urge to punch his other.
"She's not a silhouette Sora!"
The two were silent. The passerby's stared as they run hurriedly to work and home.
"Roxas!" A redheaded girl came running out of an office building, waving at her blonde companion. "Are you ready to….go?" She looked from Roxas to Sora, tension growing between them.
"Yeah let's go." Roxas grabbed her hand, and the two smiled at each other.
"Roxas she's not yours!" The couple frowned. Looking from each other to their disheveled friend.
Sora was shaking, with anger or sadness, but all the same Roxas knew he was broken inside. Roxas let go of Kairi's hand walking over to his other.
Traffic seemed to blur into a never-ending sound, Roxas sighed, and placed a comforting hand on the boys shoulder.
His checkered armband seemed to make everything around it dull. How fitting.
"Sora—"Kairi spoke up, and quickly stopped herself when Roxas spoke.
"Sora, I think that it's your turn, to chase silhouettes."
Roxas released the boys shoulder, walking back over to his love.
Roxas smiled at Kairi, and she smiled back.
The two walked way from the brunette, smiles on there faces and hand in hand, as rain began to pour.
I really hope that everyone who read this enjoyed it! It has been sitting in my folder waiting to be typed and posted for MONTHS (sweat drops) Anyways, I'm not really sorry if you didn't like it because it's a Kairi Roxas fic but that my favorite pairing. I have nothing against Kairi Sora but I'm not that good at writing about them. (Sweat drop gets bigger) so have any suggestions for my next story? PM me or review!
I Love reviews, it makes everything worth while. Even if its just criticism, I always want to improve. But please don't be mean just because you don't like the pairing. My stories are my children.
Thanx4reading
