Yep, it's Star Wars poetry. I wrote it a long while ago, kind of, and happened upon it and thought, well, why not? It'll make it look like I'm being active while I'm off doing other things - you know, like school, and work, and life... Yeah. So here it is.

An Attempt at Englyn (if you want to know what the heck that is, scroll down)

I saw Vos, through haze of snow

Bright the blade of his flashing sword

Bright the blood in the snow

I saw Mace Windu, through haze of sparks

Bright the beams of lightning about him

Blood flowed from his arms

I saw Anakin Skywalker, through haze of smoke

Bright the beam of his sword

The marble ran bright with blood

I saw Anakin, through haze of darkness

Bright his sword, red with blood

Blood gleamed bright in his eyes

I saw Yoda, through haze of pain

The blood drained from his limbs

Bright the stars above him

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

About the Form, or, So what the heck is englyn, then?

Englyn is a form of ancient Welsh epic poetry (I'm so not making any of this up) with three-line stanzas repeating themes, like so:

"Before Geraint, afflictor of the enemy,

I saw white steeds with fetlocks bloodstained,

and after the battle-cry - grievous death.

Before Geraint, disinheritor of the enemy,

I saw steeds with fetlocks bloodstained from battle,

and after the battle-cry - grievous reflection.

Before Geraint, oppressor of the enemy,

I saw steeds, white their skin,

and after the battle-cry - grievous silence." etc.

The poems usually deal with war and morbid imagery. I was taking a class on Arthurian literature (which included the above excerpted poem) at the time that Attack of the Clones came out, and was thus inspired to write the above attempt of my own. Judge as you will...
