I know it's a few months late, but I felt it should be put out there anyway! It's my first Batman fic, so be nice!
Batman's Night Before Christmas
'twas the Night Before Christmas
And all through the streets
Not a person was stirring,
Not even the deadbeats.
The stores were all locked up tightly with care
In the hopes that no criminals would be there.
Dick and Barbra were both nestled snug in their beds
While visions of high-tech gadgets danced in their heads.
And Bruce in his PJ's and Alfred in his nightcap
Had just settled down for a nice evening nap.
When from one of the jewelry stores arose such a clatter
That Mr. Gordon jumped up to see what was the matter!
Away flew Batman just like the Flash
And went off to search for the missing cash.
The Batmobile sped up, regardless of snow
Down to Gotham City which lay there below.
When what to his wondering eyes should appear
But an envelope carried by a cat dressed as a reindeer!
With curly handwriting and written with wit
Batman knew just whom it was from and he didn't have a fit.
More rapid than eagles cats with messages came
And the notes gave him directions and called him by name.
"Down Hanes Street! Down Fleet Drive! Now left on Snick Lane!
Go right on Green Avenue! Go down the street called Elaine!"
Go up to the building there! Climb up the wall!
And I'll run away and you'll chase me, whip, cash, and all!"
As students with bad report cards from mothers fly,
Batman revved up his engines leaving formerly wet streets dry.
So up to the building the Batmobile flew
With a semi-grin on Batman's face and a small chuckle too.
And then, in a twinkling, from the car he disappeared without a poof
And suddenly appeared up there on the roof.
As he glanced at his surroundings and was turning around
Up from the chimney Catwoman came with a bound.
Her outfit was pitch-black from her head to her foot,
Though that might have been because she was covered with soot.
She had a big bag that was flung on her back
And she looked as happy a druggie who just got a whole bunch of crack.
Her eyes – how they twinkled! Her laughter, how merry!
Her cheeks were like roses, her nose red as a cherry!
Her lovely mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And she seemed quite prepared for their coming row.
Apparently she'd been planning this for a week,
And she blushed a little as she handed him a cute little wreath.
His handsome broad face and his hands usually at the ready
Both shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.
They both giggled together, right jolly old elves
And he smiled at her in spite of himself.
A wink of her eye and a nod of his head
Let them both know they had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word but went straight to work
And kissed her quite soundly, another perk.
And laying a finger on the tip of her nose
He took her hand and together they drove.
They sprang to his car, she gave her cat a whistle
And they drove out of town for the holidays like a missile.
But I heard them exclaim, ere they drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
The End! I hope you enjoyed it! Please comment if you did.
