It's only been one week...
One week since it all began...
There was an accident a lab in Strangetown. It released some type of extremely toxic gas with an unknown composition. Weather systems have caused the toxin to spread globally. People have to stay inside or wear special suits when a cloud of the gas is approaching, because if they don't... the only way to explain what will happen to them is to say that... it's really bad. Their lungs start to burn and collapse, their skin begins to peel and their hair begins to fall out, they drop to the ground screaming and squirming in pain, the toxin blinds them, it seeps into their skin and begins to kill and eat away at their cells and tissues, their hearts begin to pump blood so fast to try and remove the poison from their bodies that it explodes, their internal organs begin to shut down, blood begins to pour out of their orifices, and-
But the toxin isn't the only thing we have to worry about... a extremely virulent pathogen escaped from the lab during the accident. The virus does the same thing to you, but only over a longer period of time- which in turn, means more suffering. Whereas the toxin kills you in five minutes, the disease kills you in five days.
My name is Dr. Jake Mellows. I'm a doctor who works at Sacred Spleen Memorial Hospital in Bridgeport and I specialize in Cardiology. Now, however I help with victims of the accident. These poor people... they don't have a chance after they've been exposed. We're doing our best to help them and keep them calm, but-
This entire situation is very upsetting... these people need our help, but there's nothing we can do for them. I- I love all of my patients and I hate to see them pass away, especially when they have to suffer like this! I wish that there was at least some way to save them- DAMMIT!
The virus spreads so fast. We have to wear these big, bulky, blue suits with a plastic screen when we see the patients. It doesn't bother me because blue is my favorite color and I'd do anything for my patients. Sometimes, however, younger patients are afraid of the suits. We try to calm them down by giving them little sweets and showing affection towards them. One piece of candy and a smile can go a long way in terms of cheering people up. They say that scientists are working on a cure for the disease and are researching a way to remove the toxin from the air. Problem is, I don't know how long they will be able to... keep it together. The staff at the hospital are already starting to become fatigued by having so many patients coming in. People are coming in non-stop and the hospital and it's supplies are becoming overwhelmed. Of course, many hospitals in SimNation are already overwhelmed and they can't take any more patients in. This is unfortunate because people who can't receive treatment just go home and- die, possibly spreading the virus even farther. In other countries, some people have no hospitals at all. 20,000 people have died from this disease, worldwide, so far- IN JUST ONE WEEK! It's very contagious and animals who feed on corpses or come in contact with the virus can become carriers before showing any symptoms (animals can become infected too). The virus attaches itself to their fur and and enters their body fluids. They can spread it to other organisms, including humans.
Some of the people who work at my hospital have became accidentally infected by the pathogen. I just hope that I never get it and I also hope that it is cured soon. I just don't like watching people have to go through this...
Thanks for reading the prologue! I don't own EA or the Sims. Please read the reviews and give your own! I will continue to update this one! Thanks again!
