Clint was staring off to the corner of the room, considering the many options that were available for lunch. He turned and eyed the vending machine hungrily, salivating ever so slightly as he imagined wolfing down a bag of Cheesy Doritos. God he was hungry. Was Tony trying to torture him, he thought, putting one in the gym?
Barton felt his stomach flutter again, realising that this time he wasn't hungry; he was being stared at. He slowly turned his head to look down at Nat who was boring into his scull as she strained under a weight she was attempting to put back on the press.
"Shit, sorry Nat"
Natasha felt sweet relief fill her muscles as she let Clint take the weight; though that of course wouldn't let him off easy. She was about to ask what had distracted his 'god-like sharp mind that surpassed even the great Tony Stark' when she heard a low rumble coming from his direction. Barton grimaced as Nat rolled her eyes at him,
"You're appalling. I need a partner who doesn't need to eat 24/7"
Nat smiled and let out a small sigh of relief as she looked up at the adorable doof situated now directly above her. She thought for a second of how awful she must look, before Clint leaned his head forward and pressed his lips against hers. She felt herself melt into him, forgetting everything, her aching muscles warming and relaxing at his touch as her lips begged for him to touch her all over.
Unfortunately the moment was ruined by a small growl from his stomach.
"Sorry, I'm starving"
"Clearly"
"Shawarmas?" Clint grinned
"I hate you"
They slid around each other, limbs untangling themselves from a hold neither realised they had tied into; they moved together perfectly, perhaps more in-tune than would be expected from even two master assassins, heightened as they had spent so long training together they knew every inch of each other's bodies and movements. Clint was the only one Nat would ever trust to know her so deeply.
As they moved, Nat flicked her eyes away, quick enough to see a flash of silver on the roof of the abandoned building opposite.
"GET DOWN"
