Halloween. It was a piercing black cloudless night, with the full moon laminating in the distance lighting the pathway of all the trick-or-treaters.

Jacob sat slumped against the wall by the door, letting his mind wander while mindlessly eating a bowl full of recess peanut butter cups ( A/N my favorite!).Jacob was left at home handing candy out while Billy and Charlie sat in the living room watching there daily ESPN late night.

Ding-Dong!

Jacob groaned and sluggishly got up letting a waterfall of wrappers fall from his lap to the floor.

Knock knock knock !

"I'm coming! Sheesh" he growled. "don't have a cow….or should I say wolf. He He" Jacob sniggered at his own private joke and opened the door quick to reveal two 10 year old boys. One dressed as (you'll never guess) a werewolf, complete with furry brown paws extracting four long sharp claws on each.

For a second Jacob felt a surge of admiration from this little boy before turning his attention toward the other.

Ironically enough he was dressed in a long cape, slicked back hair and plastic fangs hanging from his mouth.

"trick-or-treat" they both said simultaneously. Jacob handed a gigantic fistful of candy to the werewolf and glared at the kid dressed up as a vampire.

He knew it wasn't right but he still lied and said there was no more candy left.

"but… " the vampire pleaded.

" nope that's it, no worries though leech there's a blood bank up the street."

and with that he slammed the door on them and turned off the porch lights before they had a chance to leave. Still standing there on the step in the dark bewildered at what had just happened.
