Neville Longbottom groaned as he once again gave into Ronald Weasley's demand to move away from Harry Potter. He always seemed to give into one person or another no matter what the issue was. He knew that he needed to stand up for himself, but knowing it and doing it were two completely different things. He knew that if he ever wanted to be Harry's friend that he would have to stand up for himself.
Later that same week he glared at Ron Weasley with hard eyes when the other boy snapped "Move over, Longbottom, so that I can sit next to Harry."
He moved down, but kept glaring at Ron. He could tell that Harry was getting fed up with the way that Ron was acting as well, but he didn't want Harry to be the one who told his friend off for the way that he was acting. He could tell by the way that Harry acted that the other boy didn't have any experience in standing up for himself just like he himself didn't. He shook his head as he thought of ways to finally get the point across that he was done giving into Ron Weasley. He also wanted to show Harry that it was alright for the smaller boy to stand up for himself if that is what he wanted to do.
Not even three days later he was once again getting forced to move from the spot he had chosen to sit down at. He really was starting to get fed up with Ron and the way that the bigger boy was treating him, Harry, and even everyone else. He knew that if he kept giving into Ron that he would never stand up for himself and he didn't like that thought at all. It was bad enough that he had to put up with certain family members walking all over him, but for him to have to also put up with people walking all over him while he was at Hogwarts was just way too much for him.
If it wasn't one person it was another and he really was tired of getting told what to do by people who had no business telling him what to do. Which is why when Ron Weasley told him to move one day he ignored the red headed boy and stayed seated where was at. He was no longer going to allow Ron or anyone else for that matter push him around and walk all over him unless they gave him a damn good reason as to why he should listen to them. He ignored the fact that Ron was getting red in his face and just stared at the front of the classroom. He ignored the fact that Harry was biting his lip to keep from laughing even as the other boy gave him thumbs up for finally standing up for himself. He couldn't help but smile at the other boy because he was proud of himself even if he did end up pissing someone else off in the process.
