The silence in the night made Kagome sigh. Too long she'd been in the past, but trying to think of the future aswell. Her life, as she put it, was just hetic. Her own time she had her family, but here she had her friends. Torn between too worlds, Kagome knew she had to choose, but the thing that was hurting her the most, was that she'd already choosen. Well, her heart had, her brain still needed to catch up on that bit. Wrapping her arms around her knees, so that they were against her chest, Kagome stared blankly out over the landscape before her. It was simple really. Several fields, a few trees, some roads, and of course the slow trinkling stream below the hill. Somewhere out there she heard the lone cry of some wolf, and she looked away from the scene. Leaning back, Kagome stretched herself so she led on her back, looking up at the stars. A gentle breeze came a pleasant surprise to Kagome. The grass around her swayed, but most importantly of all, Kagome didn't feel as alone anymore.

The reason for this, a certain half-demon stood, leaning against a tree, watching Kagome and her 'strange' ways.'Jeeze... can't this woman make up her mind? One moment she's standing, the next moment she's sat up... now she's led down?' Inuyasha thought to himself. His amber eyes shimmered as he watched Kagome lay there, her sweet scent coming to his nose every now and then. His ears twitch as he heard her sigh, before he watched her half sit up once more. She put her arms behind her, and leaned her weight on them. Inuyasha smirked to himself. 'Good... she doesn't know I'm here...' Calmly he stood straight from leaning on the tree and began to slowly walk towards her. The gentle breeze picked up again, and Inuyasha's silver hair flowed freely behind him. Not even alerting her to his presence, Inuyasha sat down next to her in his usual manner, only slightly closer. Legs and arms crossed, though his expression was slightly different. Kagome looked up at him in wonder, he was such a mystery to her, a mystery she was determinded to solve.

"Inuyasha?" Kagome spoke lightly, only to watch the half-demon look at her from the corner of his eyes.

"Hmm?" Sighing, Kagome looked away from him. It was pointless trying to get his attention for more than five seconds, unless you were food, or Kikyo. Thinking of her previous incarnation, Kagome led back down on her back, making all too obvious something was on her mind.

"You said my name? What is it?" Inuyasha then said, looking properly at her this time.

"It's nothing Inuyasha..." Kagome murrmured, and his ears twitched.

"Aww... come on Kagome... Whats wrong? You've been acting all weird lately... it's weirding me out!" Kagome looked at Inuyasha's rare serious expression.

"What do you see up there Inuyasha?" Kagome asked him randomly, trying to change the subject. It seemed to work, for the time being.

"The stars... duh!" Inuyasha said to her.

"Obviously... but don't you ever wonder if there's something else out there?" She looked at him now, and he sighed. He got up before walking round her. She sat up, and tried to turn around. She stopped when she realised Inuyasha had sat directly behind her.

"Why worry about what's up there, when I've got all I want down here!" Inuyahsa whispered into Kagome's ear. Blushing Kagome sat up and scuffed backwards, so that she could lean on Inuyasha. It was these moments in their relationship that made living here all worth while. Inuyasha protectively put his arms around Kagome's body as she leaned on him. "And I wouldn't swap it for the universe!"
