ANOTHER HATTER/HARE. I AM ON A ROOOLLLLLL (pardon the hyper authoress....)
The table was quiet except for the sounds of sipping and crunching of tea and biscuits.
The Hatter swirled a spoon through his tea, resting his head on his hand.
He looked over at the March Hare, who appeared to be having a staring contest with his half-eaten toast.
It looked like the toast was winning.
He broke the silence without warning, questioning again the relations of ravens to writing desks. The sudden noise caused the March Hare to jump, breaking his focus on the bread.
"Hatter, I've told you time and again, I haven't a clue!"
The hat-maker sighed.
"That's the problem, Marchy. Neither have I."
A sigh, from both this time.
The Hare grabbed for the toast he'd been staring at, chewing on it slowly, flipping it up accidentally,
getting jam on his face.
"Ah!"
Hatter chuckled, digging into his vest pocket for a hankerchief, leaning forward to wipe away the reddish splotch on the brunette's nose.
"There. All clean."
He pressed a light kiss to where he'd just cleaned, before backing up.
Marchy looked away from him, staring sideways down at the table, his face flushed an extraordinary shade of red. "Th-Thank you...Hatter..."
Hatter leaned his forehead against the other's, smiling with his eyes closed.
"You're welcome"
The March Hare scrunched his eyes closed, sitting up straighter in his chair, brushing his lips butterfly soft against his friend's.
Before Hatter was able to press back, the Dormouse burst out "TREACLE", before settling back into a deep sleep.
This startled poor Marchy so much he fell off his chair with a cry, onto the grassy ground.
Hatter tugged his own chair closer, leaning forward on the chair the March Hare had just vacated involuntarily,
beckoning for the brunette to come closer.
The Hare sat up, wincing slightly, and sat in front of the Hatter.
Looking back on it, he really should have realized what was coming next.
Yes, yes, he really should have. (THEY KISS AGAIN, BTW.)
I really think I'm getting the hang of writing these guys :)
...yes, I will write Cheshire/Alice soon. Once I can think of what to write. (A cookie for suggestions!)
