Why not and who says change is always bad?

OK, I'll say it. The former Ms. Marvel is more like the original Cap't Marvel then

whoever stars in "Brother vs. Brother". Which isn't saying much.

Once there was a young boy who went thur a LOT of trouble to

prove he was worthy of his father's name. Until everybody agreed

he was, indeed, Bate's son.

Billy and Mary's parents, Merrill and Joycelyn Batson died in a

stupid pointless car accident. Joyce had only been expecting

one baby and been surprised by twins. They only had one crib. Tomorrow

was Christmas and all the stores would be closed. They left the kids with

Nurse Sara Primm and went to buy another crib.(1) They never got to the store.

Their car slipped on a patch of black ice, skidded out of control and crashed

into a tree. And that was all she wrote for Merrill and Joycelyn Batson.

When Nurse Sara found out, she left the babies with her next door

neighbor, a fellow midwife/babysitter whose discretion could be counted

on (2). Sara went to Anne Bloomfield (3) to tell her what had happened. Right

after Sara got there, Anne went into labor early...fainting after the girl baby

was born. Anne only heard Sara say "it's a girl!" and did not see the baby

die shortly thereafter. (4)

So Nurse Sara made Anne comfy and went back for Mary Batson. Sara

buried dead baby girl secretly, gave Mary to Anne and said nothing so

Mary would have a good home.

Which is why the Marvel Family spent their long and distinguished career

preventing automobile accidents.

(1) Joyce did NOT trust Merril to buy a safe and proper crib. But he knew how to

drive and she didn't...

(2) The nice lady had a lisp and seldom spoke lest people mock her.

(3)Poor people didn't have phones then.

(4) Babies died like flies back then.
