Sun Li had been defeated and the people were assured of their princess' safety. The heroes were recovering from their battles. And now that the adrenaline ceased flowing in their veins it was time for quiet contemplation.

Dawn Star and Sun Lian were somewhere around the palace together. They were a long way from being friends but some bonds form regardless of the wishes of those involved. Black Whirlwind and Hou had bonded over alcohol, with Whirlwind drinking enough for the both of them. Kang tinkered in the garden while Wild Flower laughed at his antics from the sidelines. And, for the first time since their… moment, Sky was able to be alone with Wu.

"I won't hold you to it." She looked at him, confused by his serious tone. "What we talked about before… before the battle."

Eyes narrowed in anger, Wu strode across the room, coming to a stop right in front of him. "What?"

Smiling sadly, he looked down at her. "People say a lot of things they wouldn't normally say when they think there's a chance they'll die. I won't hold you to rash words."

"Is that what you think of me?" She poked him in the chest. "That I would shoot off my mouth and regret it later?" Another poke. "When have I ever not thought something through? That's more your thing. Wait…" She froze, the anger fading from her face to be replaced with apprehension. "That's it, isn't it? You're regretting having said something." Anger was creeping back into her voice. Anger and hurt. "I understand. Fine, if that is your wish, I release you…" She turned.

"Now wait a minute." Grabbing her arm he swung her to face him. He forced himself to continue despite the murderous look she sent him. "I'm not asking to be released. I just don't want to force you into something you're not ready for." Feeling her searching gaze he let his mask drop. "I just wanted you to make that decision with a clear head."

Slowly, a smile bloomed across her face. "Sky!" Throwing her arms around his neck, Wu pulled him into a kiss far more passionate than their previous one. When they pulled apart both were breathing heavily. "You're an idiot. You know that?"

"Whatever you say, my lotus blossom." He pulled her closer.

"You know…" She grinned mischievously as she stroked the back of his neck. "We never did finish what we started, my love."

"Thank the gods." Wrapping her in his arms he swept down and devoured her mouth. After a quick moment she joined in the play. Tongues dueling, hands roaming, they learned each other. It was bliss.

"Oh gods!"

Breaking apart, they came face to face with their friends. Dawn Star looked at them in surprise while she kept one hand over Wild Flower's eyes. A blush touched the cheeks of Sun Lian who pointedly avoided their gaze. The only ones who didn't seem affected were Hou and Black Whirlwind. The former only shook his head and muttered something about 'wives' and 'if only.' The latter cracked a smile wider than any canyon.

"Umm… I… uh guys?"

Wu rolled her eyes at her lover's articulateness. Grabbing his hand she tugged him out of the room. "What he means to say is 'we'll se you later, guys.'" She tossed back a smile and a wink. "Don't wait up for us." With that she dragged the shocked rogue from the room in the direction of the bedrooms the staff had prepared for them.

Black Whirlwind's laugh reached them as they entered Wu's chamber. They could almost hear the words that followed. "Now that's my kind of woman!"

AN: What's the point of this? Nothing, absolutely noting. I just finished the game (again) and this got stuck in my head. Hope you enjoyed it.
