Rustkit

Rustkit looked to her left, then to the right, her tail swishing side to side as she got read to pounce on her mighty prey. Rustkit leaped and leaned on the bettle; it wiggled but she clamped her jaws onto it killing the bug. Rustkit held it up proudly to her leader. Hexstar shook his head in disapproval and padded away.

Rustkit's mother, Frostheart shook her head in dismay. Rustkits tail dropped as she sighed and headed outside the camp. Her heart throbbed at failing the test, again. Rustkit sat down at the lake and looked at her refection, a tear dropped into the water. She was a nothing to her family; and she knew it. Just one big mistake.

Rustkit padded back into the camp and her paws went numb. Two badgers were shredding the camp. Rustkit ran around to find her brother and sister. The badgers howls were loud, but not as loud as the shirks of the cats around her.

"Rustkit!" Rustkit heard her little brother call her name as she ran over to him. Her father ran into Rustkit and hissed, she backed away slowly as she little brother cried. Rustkit turned around and started running again.

"Get out of here!" "You are a disgrace to your clan!" "Go and die! No one wants you here!" The words of all the cats that she had once heard buzzed around in her head. Even the apprentice she had a crush on told her to get lost. She was nothing, just one big nothing. Rustkit started crying again and her mother fell right in front of her, blood soaked her pelt.

"Mom?" Rustkit poked her mother with her paw and the tears were flowing into her pelt. "Mom!" Rustkit cried. Claw marks covered her dead mother. Rustkit knew her mother never loved her, but she knew that just maybe, just maybe, she would tell her one day that she did.

"Rustkit?" A voice murmured her name, it was her fathers. Rustkit turned and looked p at him; his face was warm and welcoming. Rustkit held back tears as she saw her dead brother hanging from his jaws. He dropped Rustkit's brother and laid down next to her. "I know I never told you this but-"

"Dad!" Rustkit screeched as a badger came charging at them. Rustkit leaped to her paws and braced herself.

"Rustkit! NO!" Her fathers calling made her heart stop. Did he care? Did-did he love her now? It was to late. The badger slammed into her father. He tried to fight back, but was no match for the badgers strength. His body hit the floor in front of Rustkit's paws. She started to shake in fear. Everyone.. Dead... No...

Suddenly a loud yowl broke the air and the ForestClan cats poured into the FrostClan camp. Rustkit squealed as the badgers began to retreat. The loud footsteps were echoing in the distance.

"Search all the bodies!" A cat yowled. Rustkit shrunk back and waited. A pair of blue eyes met hers and a grin spread across the cats face.

"Spottedstar! I found a kit!" He called.
